    Rush's Geddy Lee's Rolex/Patek/Heuer collection

Rush was the best band ever (imho) and here's Geddy Lee's watch collection. A lot of nice Pateks, Heuers and Rolexes.

No surprise he has great taste in watches too.

Wearing a nice GMT in the picture.

Been a Rush fan for 41 years [edit: actually more than 42, gosh time flies], but had no idea he was into watches. Nice to see we have GMT ownership in common. Looks like it might be a 1675.

Here's a Patek Phillipe anecdote from his erstwhile bandmate, Neil Peart:

    Neither did I.

When Peart called it quits Geddy must be bored. But it's nice to be bored (or a watch collector) with tons of money in your pockets haha.

Wow. Where was that? During their last (R40) UK tour?

Great band and he is a very interesting guy.

I've just fired up Signals and Grace Under Pressure off the back of this thread! Thanks OP.

It was in London on June the 8th he was promoting his book, Geddy Lee's Big Beautiful Book Of Bass
I've been a big fan from when I first listened to Power Windows back when I was 15

When I was a kid Led Zeppelin was THE band... although I'm way too young to remember their time. But my dad introduced me to their music. I was sold to IV and Houses of the Holy.

I thought I couldn't find anything better... ever. Until I heard Permanent Waves, Moving Pictures, Grace Under Pressure, Power Windows, Hold Your Fire and Presto.

Those are the best albums I've ever heard. Still. These guys were friggin' masters of their instruments. And they never became a nostalgia act... they quit when they were on top of their game. Everything that they did they did with honor, style and grace. In their OWN terms. "The Garden" was their last song and it's strikingly beautiful.

    Total respect to this band.

    Great collection!

Those London Symphony Orchestra Rush takes are pretty interesting. I was just listening them on YouTube a few weeks ago.

    Cheers!

Met him myself, once! Outside the stage door at Newcastle City Hall, February 1978. He was quite pleasant and signed my A Farewell To Kings tour book, as did Alex.

Great collection that. 12” version of Closer To The Heart I believe is a rarity, I’ve got it too. Turntable looks fabulous.

Saw them live several times from Farewell To Kings Tour up until the Roll The Bones tour. Great live act.

Pet hate memory was looking forward to seeing them on TOTP playing Spirit Of The Radio and finding bloody Pans People flouncing around instead.

My 22 year old Son is now a big fan and is always playing one album or another - much to his Mother’s annoyance (she’s not a fan)

Really enjoyed reading the article. Must be good to have the money to throw into the hobby like that and the space to keep all those Bass Guitars!

    Women don't "get" Rush.

My first gig was at Globe Arena, Stockholm. R30 tour. And during the break I wanted to go to the bathroom. The queue was 100 meters.

I went to the ladies' room. Problem solved. No queue. :D :D

Same thing when you go to see Iron Maiden.

But women DO get Hold Your Fire album and stuff like Time Stand Still. Even my wife liked that song a lot... and most songs from HYF.

Interesting read thanks. I’ve always been a fan - his bass playing on Power Windows is astounding.

Great to see he is a big watch guy. Love his GMT.
