This thread is making my mouth water with those delightful half forgotten sweets!

    What about coconut mushrooms.....

    Cheers,
    Neil.

Sweets aside, the recent spate or consoles there's a few options to feel nostalgic about (if that's your thing)

Being 14 and having a huge crush on Vanessa Paridis (Joe le taxi) after seeing her on Top of The Pops!

And drinking Top Deck or Shandy Bass on hot summer nights thinking we’re cool, big can too!

Ah yes, find memories of Top Deck!

I might be a shandy drinking southerner, but shandy is nice, right?

    😁
So clever my foot fell off.

I was going to say the exact same thing, I don't even recognise the bar but the advert song is vivid.
    Cheers..

It's a Manfred Mann song from 1964, perhaps that's why it's so familiar.

    Of course.

And for some of us lucky enough to remember, it was the theme tune to Ready Steady Go on Friday night.

    "The weekend starts here!"
    Cheers,
    Neil.

Unfortunately, it is the rather trashy chocolate bar advert version that I can remember.

Maybe showing my true class, or rather lack of it....!

I'm fairly certain that I've seen these in the Cadbury's Outlet shop in Gunwharf Quays in Portsmouth.

Star bars are widely available nearly bought one in my local budgens today.

Sweet tobacco is also available but not that widely. On line or I got some from a sweet shop in Blackpool a while ago.

That's just reminded me of all the smoking related things we had as kids - plastic pipes, battery operated plastic cigarettes (the end lit up) and of course candy cigarettes with the end coloured red. I recall having a large plastic cigar when I was quite young.

I would often be given gift sets like this

And pipe-shaped licorice with hundresds and thousands to make it look like embers in the bowl.

Spangles. The most hated part of a Christmas selection box. Designed to shatter and embed a miriad of razor sharp sugar shards into your tongue.
