    Anyone from Rugby? Watch out

Hilarious article methinks as both watches look fake and are described as ‘expensive’

For those of us who spend too much time on watch forums, it's easy to forget that for most of the population, £175 would be regarded as an "expensive" watch, and is probably far more than the vast majority of people will even spend on one.

And back in the real world, why do all local newspaper websites look like the design equivalent of roadkill?

A theft is a theft. Doesn't matter if the stolen item was a fake.

A potential theft is still a potential theft. Doesn't matter if the possibly stolen item was a fake.

The article doesn’t say that they’ve been stolen, just that the U Boat “looks to have been torn from a wrist” ie it has a broken strap.

Two teenagers with a Police quartz watch and a fake U Boat, wouldn’t arouse my suspicions.

Perhaps we’re not getting the whole story.

    True.

Indeed, the police are trying to confirm whether or not the watches have been stolen.

I'm sure we haven't been told the whole story: We don't need to know it of course. It is irrelevant from the perspective of the purpose of the article.

I was wrong and careless to assume that the watches had been stolen when the police are in fact using the media to try to confirm whether or not this is the case.

(But yeah, of course the scrotes stole the watches. Obvs! Send them off for a good birching just in case. ;-) )
