Hi all
My dad gave me a 1972 Admiral some time ago which has just been sitting in my wardrobe and I wanted to get it serviced. It’s not running properly so needs a full service. Could anyone recommend a good watchmaker in the community that could help me out?
I’m based in London but would be happy to post.
Thanks

Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.
Only thing that puts me off Longines is parts availability, it's worse than Omega. In many cases an old watch can be made to run very well without new parts, but with automatics it's almost certain that the mainspring barrel will be worn and if that's the case the watch will never give of its best. That's not say it won`t run reliably and with reasonably good timekeeping, but amplitude and in some cases power reserve will be affected. Problems arise if a part is broken, worn parts will still work but broken ones won't.
Good old Swatch Group have got everyone by the short and curlies with their parts restrictions, but Longines parts were difficult before all that started.
I`m sure there's every chance this one can be brought back to life, that's usually the case with mechanicals.
Thanks for the info. It’s actually a hand wound so maybe I’ll have some luck!
