    I love this thread.
I've often wondered about starting up a TZ cheap watch of the year challenge.. who can pick up the coolest watch for under 20 quid off eBay
Chuck a few prizes in etc

Luch 1 Hander I bought here for £50.

Marginally undercut a GW-6900 that I paid a couple of quid more than that for.

(I do have an old Seiko that I bought here for about £35, but it's a non-runner, so I don't think it should count.)

Great idea! That would be fun, would need to run for a while to give chance for some bargains to sneak in. £20 would be a fun limit.

Id always thought start New Years day with results between Christmas and NYE. Give it a year long so folk can update thread with their arrivals.

    A lovely idea.

Is the idea with using eBay that people can then evidence that they bought it for what they claim?

I'd be game for that, would potentially mean a few people on here bidding against each other

Yes, screen shot with purchase price/winning bid amount.
I think 20 excluding postage should be the limit.

I have a 14ct JLC dated 1954. It cost me nothing because I won it in a game of poker.

    £150. Was quite pleased.

I did pick up another Enicar for £35 but that was quickly nabbed by the missus, so not technically mine any more!

Well for a brand new watch bought in the UK at retail, probably this automatic on leather. Got it for less than £25 four years ago and it still keeps pretty good time.

It's cheap, light and seems pretty robust. Plus the lume is fantastic!

Primarily this is the watch that goes on when there is high likelyhood of major impact or damage occurring.

Hard to say, because I have no idea how much the vintage stuff I was left by my Grandad...

    Maybe this Sekonda?

    Or maybe this Bulova?

Well, watches can be made really cheaply, this has a display back and a Seagal movement and a three year warranty. Aldi had it on sale as one their short term specials and they would still be making a fair profit even after selling for less than £25.

Not sure the start / finish has been agreed yet. I'd take part for a laugh in any case.

Are we going to include postage costs in the £20?

£25 not including postage... pretty please !

In all seriousness postage shouldn’t be included as it favours people that live in watch rich countries.

I'll tell you now that if you allow high postage, I'll be scouring Guatamala for bargains...

Ok, excluding postage in the UK but including postage from elsewhere in the world.

    So China it is then.

I've also posted this in the solar watch thread but I've realised that it can go in this one too.
I've had this eco drive for about 15 years. It cost £40 from Argos and has outlasted a couple of G Shocks and a few other 'tactical' watches. It's climbed mountains all over Europe and been exposed to desert heat and freezing cold. I usually end up digging it out a drawer every few years when it's replacement fails. I wouldn't get it wet anymore and suspect it will only get worn when the battery in my cwc diver needs replacing.

I too have one of the above but managed to get this one as part of some deal for about the same price.

It’s titanium making it super light and is also by far the thinnest watch I own.

This little Seiko 5. I recall it was less than a tenner from eBay. It's sweet.
