    Paul Merton's watch

Anybody recognise this watch ? Worn by Paul Merton on 'Have I Got News For You'.
I think it is very similar to the JleC tourbillion.
Beautiful and simple to read. I have not yet serviced one of these.

On Paul Merton’s watch, the crown looks to be on the opposite side of the dial to the JLeC, to me anyway.

Assuming he has it on his left wrist, it is almost as though the tourbillon or balance is at 12 rather than 6.

You're right. It is on his left wrist.
Maybe I could ask Ian Hislop of Private Eye. I have their contact number.

And what is that carbuncle (a screw?) at the 5 (or 11) position?

I think that's probably a reflection, it's not evident on this shot:

At the 5, yes I noticed that. Either a trick of the bright studio lights or a tiny medallion is my guess.

Is it definitely a tourbillon, do we think? It looks quite similar to this 'open heart' Raymond Weil

I'd say this or similar. He doesn't strike me as the kind of chap to spend a fortune on a watch. That's not a slight of any sort, he just strikes me as someone who has simply bought a watch that he likes to look of.

You're probably right. I am always interested in the watches personalities wear. Sting wore a Franck Muller, Wayne Rooney a Royal Oak and Tom Jones A TAG quartz ! This morning Brad Pitt and Leonardo Di Caprio were interviewed about their current film 'Once Upon a Time in Hollywood'. I didn't get good TV photos but Brad Pitt's watch looked something like a Breitling chronograph when it caught the light. I could be wrong again !
Anyone else know which watches Stars wear ?

Yes, that is a Breitling chrono for sure. I remember Sting's G-Shock from the late '80s, that was a good look.

Jimmy Page wears an Ice watch .. or at least he's done so at least once.

And like Brad Pitt, George Martin was a fan of Breitling Chronos in the '60s. This is his Top Time:

I remember a Datejust dangling from Roger Waters' wrist during Live Eight, like an oversized bracelet:

Jeez is that 14 years ago now?
