    SOTKC: Kontiki Time!

SOTKC: State of the Kontiki Collection

Not only I do I have too many Russian and Titoni watches, I also have a thing for Eterna Kontikis which started off on this forum many moons ago. Without further ado here's some poor quality camera-phone pictures:

1965 Eterna Matic Super Kontiki 40mm. My first vintage Kontiki

1971 Eterna Matic Kontiki Super 40mm (Don't ask me why one is a Super Kontiki and the other a Kontiki Super - I have no idea). This one with the faded ghost bezel and (almost definitely fake) IDF markings on the back had done the rounds on Sales Corner a number of times before I eventually picked it up. I even tried to flog it for a loss about a year later but nobody was interested. Anyway, I put a cheapo Jubilee bracelet on it and (for me anyway) it transformed the watch.

Late 70s (probably - I'm unable to date Eternas past 1974) Eterna Sonic Kontiki with the ESA 9162 tuning fork movement. 42mm. Hummmmm.

Late 70s Eterna Sonic Kontiki Sevenday with an ESA 9164 tuning fork movement. According to someone who knows a hell of a lot more than me about tuning fork movements, the ESA 9162 and 9164 are "often referred to as the Rolls-Royce of hummers". So far, far, far superior to any Accutron movement but then who would ever get obsessed about those? I've certainly got ESA9162/4itis! ;)

1999 Eterna Matic Kontiki Chronometer 200m. A gorgeous little automatic watch at 39mm and a mere 9.3mm thick. Can anyone think of a thinner automatic 200m diver?

Early 2000s Eterna Matic Chronograph. 39mm with a 7750 movement. The dial is ball-achingly beautiful in my opinion - nicer than any other watch I've ever owned. The Audrey Hepburn of watches. The watch is in absolutely mint condition and I'm scared to wear it in case it gets scratched...

Early 2000s Eterna Matic Kontiki 300 meters 40mm. My first Kontiki. Bought on SC from CafeRacer 6 years ago:

2010ish Eterna Matic Kontiki Super 1973 Heritage. 44mm. It's big, it's beautiful, it weighs a ton.

    Group shot to finish:

    Hope you enjoyed!

Love these vintage pieces, prices are sky high and finding them.

I tried and failed to sell the 1971 Kontiki for just £550 a few years back. Since then prices have certainly gone a bit bonkers - eat your heart out Rolex!

I have to agree with you about your ‘Audrey Hepburn’
    She really is beautiful.

You have a lovely collection. Thanks for sharing it with us.

That is a fantastic bunch of Eternas.
I don’t believe I have seen a 1999 200m chronometer before and it looks beautiful.

Here is my humble bunch of Superkontikis.
I also have the new Heritage one but it doesn’t compare to the originals.

Some fantastic watches. Often thought about sourcing one of these as a birth year watch.

I'm pretty sure you don't need all 3 of those ;)

Hi there, would anyone of you consider selling one of your kontikis?

Half of them are already gone. To be honest, I wouldn't feel comfortable sending any the rest to Singapore. Good luck finding one though!
