One week to go, and I’m inching towards my revised target of £2500. Please do donate to these amazing causes if you feel that you can - my fundraiser page is here

Right guys, there’s now just a few days to go and I’m very close to my revised target of £2500.

I’ve already put in more than £250 myself, plus another £100 worth of donations to other riders funds; help me, please, to get past my target and remember - every pound you contribute will help to save lives!

Out for the last test ride tonight on the London route with the other marshals.

Looking at the weather forecast for Sunday i'm glad my Harris Tweed suit is very very water resistant.

The London ride is very tricky. Think 8mph was the average speed for it and you spend a lot more time stationary than moving. Plus you are clogging up an already clogged up town.

Far better to do an out of town like Brooklands etc as you’ll still be stop start but will get to flow and the public will be a lot more receptive in my experience.

Did a dummy run on the London route last night with a few other marshals and then we all went to the bike shed with Dutch .. It’s a good route.

Did an 'outfit' check yesterday and sorted out my fundraising too. Can't wait, but forecast still looking a bit dodgy.....finger and toes crossed.

Sadly, it was pissing down for most of the day and so not ideal conditions for taking photos. I grabbed these at the start, though, and also have a couple of very short video clips that I'll add when i get a minute.

You've got more resolve than me Tony ... not sure I'd have been out in the rain.
Presumably "spurred on" by the great effort in terms of donations gathered!

Yes, it was filthy weather but it did seem to be a superb turnout in the circumstamces.

I was thrilled with the fundraising, actually, Ian - I think I stood about 80th out of 113,000 riders in the end, and I know the funds will be put to good use by the Movember Foundation.

Nice one Tony, and congratulations on raising so much.

Karma dictates that next year’s will be in full sunshine to compensate.

    Morning,

    Here's a couple of pics I took...

Rain did it's best to dampen our spirits.....but I think a grand time was still had by all. I for one thoroughly enjoyed myself.

The electrics on my 41 year old Guzzi decided to play up on Saturday, charging system went down.

So it was onto my 50 year old Honda Monkey bike, complete with umbrella for the rainy conditions as it's no fun standing marshaling in the rain..

And we made it into todays edition of the Independent.

Guys, we're in the last 6 hours of fundraising. Targets aren't relevant any more as I've exceeded the £3k barrier and won't be adjusting it upwards again. However, some last-minute donations would be massively appreciated; once again, it's in support of the Movember Foundation, and money will go towards men's mental health and prostate cancer.

If you could see your way to making a donation it would be really appreciated, and if you want to make another donation, please don't let me stop you. I've just done so for the 6th time, which takes my own personal donations up to about £450 excluding the contributions to other riders accounts... at least you can't accuse me of not walking the walk, right?

    Donations can be made here.
