If the crown screws for 2 full turns it should be fine for a long time, maybe there’s an argument for leaving well alone. Try cleaning the threads on both the case and crown then apply a tiny spot of oil or grease (tiny!). It may be possible to clean up the threaded tube if the starter thread has a tiny burr, but there’s no guarantee that’ll help if the crown threads are worn too. It’s also worth ensuring the movement is aligned correctly in the case, thus avoiding excess stress on the crown when screwing down.
I don’t know how the pendant tube is attached, but getting the old one out will require a full strip- down of the case (glass out, bezel off) and a liberal dose of heat. Once the old tube is out the best option can be established. I’m not a fan of screw- down crowns, they’re trouble waiting to happen, especially when generic parts are used (questionable quality, even from Cousins).
A press- fit plain pendant tube, aided and abetted by an epoxy adhesive to ensure WR, complete with a generic waterproof crown, is the easiest option. I wouldn’t worry about losing the screw-down crown, you don’t need it.
