I don’t think it would have occurred to me to reject a watch on the basis that the AD destickered it in that way.

I may have been a little nonplussed that it was done out of sight but, as I don’t buy to flip, it doesn’t make any difference to me.

And let’s see who’s instincts are right about this thread. Read the whole ‘trilogy’. Slowly. Ask yourself, is this for real?
What happened to you earlier reply?

    Was that also a recall?

This is simple enough. Either the guy is genuine or he’s not.
I say he’s an obvious fake....quite an entertaining one.
But way too good to be true...every TZ Rolex obsession neatly ticked off.

If only there were more people like the OP we would all enjoy our Rolexes with stickers and warranty cards present.

Sounds like a wind up. The tale even included a bit about selling it to another member at a price “he would be really happy with” eg not at list. Perhaps looking to potentially sell it on also leads nicely into the sticker frenzy. Sceptical.

Yes, I was thinking the same. No reason for a meltdown otherwise.

8 grand, best watch in the world and the hands don’t line up

It’s a Rolex that can be sold at a profit, all normal reasoning regards stickers etc.go out the window.
It’s all part of the Rolex tunnel vision madness, the buyer can interpret what’s right himself there’s no rules.

But to put it into context, the last watch I bought in a shop it was prepared for me to wear by the staff.
So stickers etc.where removed and I wore it out the shop but I had no intention or thoughts on re sale.

Apart from the one that says pictures or it didn't happen...so if this is genuine show us pictures of watch, receipt, deposit on credit card and anything else to prove it otherwise you need therapy.

I find this a bit silly really. I’d love the opportunity to purchase a Pepsi for example and couldn’t care less about stickers or retaining warranty cards.

It suggests to me that Watchfinder was the next call.

    Excellent idea!😀

I initially interpreted “wee film” as a protective coating of cling film covering the luxurious leather upholstery in the booth. Just in case the excitement of “destickering” caused an accident...🤣

Aaah, now I get what people mean when they talk about the warm and fuzzy feeling with a good AD experience.

Also they should allow a friend or significant other take a video of the proceedings and post it on Instagram and save it for the posterity along with a laminated copy of the till receipt.

The watch was offered to me before the OP went to the AD
    He seemed legit ?
I have since asked which AD it was to try my luck and call them
I could try right ? Try a bribe or a death threat ......whatever ?

No reply ? Now I’m thinking is this a true story ?

I think the OP was poorly treated on this forum ( if the story was true )
IMO unfair posts around his mental state but that just how I see it

It’s a joke, for goodness sake...it goes from one absurdity to another, culminating in the wonderful notion that the official till-role receipt needs an extra verification.
He’s not mentally ill, he just has a good sense of humour .
If anyone still thinks sunaxi is genuine, ask him to give the name of the store. He won’t, of course. Nothing that can be checked.
Still, well done Sunaxi. Skilfully done.

I'm still willing to entertain the idea this is genuine. Remember, we are in tzuk here and sometimes we overlap with the other tz - twilight zone.

Relatively new here still, so can I ask if members have always cared about stickers and the like, or is it only since people started looking to make a quick buck?

That’s fair enough then really. It’s a shame for people who have always liked to have things just so, but are missing out due to profiteering.

IF this is true WOW. can you imagine the story the AD told the person that actually now owns that watch!

Edit: Just read parts 1 & 2 can’t wait for part 4. Great story.

Are you working on anymore books? Lol

I think the story is real and we have been a tad unfair.
God knows I have little patience for moaning about stickers and warranty cards but the OP had an unsatisfactory experience at the AD and is letting steam off on the forum.
He may be a difficult customer and to his own disadvantage and probably lost out on a hard to source watch. But he has my sympathies.

If this is a wind up it's a very good one and fair play to the OP for having us on.

If not, like a couple of the other comments, I would suggest a visit to OP's GP to talk things through.

Couple of years ago most of us here would have kicked up a fuss about the AD removing stickers. Mine have always been removed but I always in front of me while having a chat before the bracelet is resized. Imagine buying an £8k iPhone and the sales assistant takes off the screen sticker ha
