Ever noticed unexpected design similarities in your favourite watches?

Anyone else notice some unexpected/unlikely pairings within their favourites?

I'm really not seeing it with those two?

The similarities in mine are likely to be too subtle to notice as I tend to aim for variety. I can definitely expect similarities in lug to lug distance, but not much else.

No It's not just you - they just arent' noticing the turned down lugs, the squared off design to the lugs, and the squared off case profiles etc. Probably because the watches are different complications and very different faces - but a lot of similar design language in the cases.
It's just a matter of time...

Glad somebody else is seeing it, I wasn't meaning from front profile.

I suppose if a designer is working to a brief - in this case making a lump of metal fit a wrist and look nice - then there are only a certain amount of ways to achieve this. You will enevitably get elements of design crossing over.

I can see where you are coming from

I like variety in my collection...

    Or not!

I have 4 away for a service at the moment which are almost identical as well.

A non WIS might think these two are very alike, yet they are really quite different in many ways . . .

It must be all the thinking about the accompanying holiday watch

@sinnlover, a few years ago my entire collection was either military or military styled watches. Never gave it a thought until my missus commented that they all looked the same... she had a point haha.

Yeah, SD43 and DSSD use exactly the same bezel/insert.
