    Mid 70s Omega Geneve

I was browsing the Austin Kaye summer sale - some real discounts - and came across this, which I hadn't spotted before. From the straight-on shot, I assumed the polished bezel was rising above the case, but the other angles show that it's actually slightly sunk into the case/integrated lugs. It's 36mm. Since I now apparently like feuille hands and Breguet numerals and cute date windows, I find the whole thing very attractive.

Would some kind of bracelet have been an option when new? Austin Kaye say it's circa 1973 and are now offering it at £900

Not as standard in the 1012 powered stuff. There were two versions of the same case, one with a standard width for a leather strap and the other with a gap of something like 8mm - off the top of my head - which held the first link of the bracelet.

It's a nice enough watch, but it doesn't look very Omegaish to me. The one on the bracelet with straight, infill hands and batten hour markers has all the hallmarks or DNA of Omega to my rheumy eye and is all the better for it.

Variety is a filthy word on TZ UK, I know.
