I didn't see the Oris in flesh but I remember seeing its dial colour described somewhere as grey rather than black, just so you're aware.
Actually the Archimede is very interesting especially at its price point. I think I prefer it to the Sinn, Is there a UK stockist?

The Archimede intrigues me and I'm going to look into it a bit more. I will probably end up with the Smiths (assuming I can get one) as it will scratch an itch and then see from there.
There was an Archimede Outdoor on the Sales forum not that long ago, l was quite tempted myself, not sure if it eventually sold but it might be worth doing a search and contacting the OP.

H76565135. It's discontinued and rather difficult to find in Europe at a reasonable price -- what I did is buy H76565835 and H76565125, and swapped the straps.
We've been all round the houses, a path I've travelled too, with this and that suggestion for an Explorer substitute. It doesn't have to be an Explorer, it applies to whatever model you seek, simply buy the original. Until you do, you won't know whether it's really what you want. Our hobby magnifies small differences of detail, and as we know, that's where the devil lies. By the time you've bought, sold and traded this or that substitute, you might have as well saved hard and bought what you wanted in the first place. The advantage with an Explorer is that if after an exhaustive chase you find it's not for you, you won't take a bath.

You could always buy an Alpha Explorer and see how you get on with the style and size, under a £100 so you'll not take a great hit if you decide to move it on.

One thing I love about this watch is that Oris bothered to put in a new date wheel so that the date window is in exactly the right place. There aren't many watches that can say as much since they grew beyond 35mm. This has the same very satisfying positioning as the date window on, say, a mid-60s 35mm Seamaster or Seiko.This is on the SC at £625-ish, which feels like a good watch for the money.

It's a Oris Big Crown Propilot date, £1160 new, and you should be able to find an independent dealer and walk in with cash, get 20-25% off. If you wanted it new. It's a good watch - Oris are an excellent value proposition.
