    Vintage Amplifier - info please...

I know nothing about this and would appreciate any info you might have. Low end kit? Worth using or car boot material. It looks relatively unused and comes in its original box. Sold by Greens Cameras of London.

    Thanks.

Never heard of them in my time in hifi. Looks low end to me. Those slider controls may be noisy as you operate them, if so, try spraying some switch cleaner in the tracks.

Not heard of that make before, but it looks cool. How does it sound? If it sounds good it might be worth keeping. As Rod says, if there’s noise when operating the switches and sliders then a little contact cleaner should help.

I always like a bit of retro hifi. Do you have speakers to go with it??

If you Google the details you find an advert for a very similar model, with the advertiser saying, I couldn't find anything about this online. I wonder if the Federal bit was a rebadge for Greens, just for the UK market?

Not just sold by but branded ‘Greens’. Possibly re-badged something else.

    Looks very downmarket TBH.

I’ve been looking at vintage hi fi, mostly for the style, you should check the inputs though depending on what you want to connect, some of the old stuff has din sockets instead of rca for example.
    Cheers..

Looking at the word 'Japan' on the rear, it looks like it was made by Sanyo/Fisher. The fact it has 'xstal' on the input selector gives a clue as to it's age... maybe mid 60's.
Make sure you connect some very efficient speakers to it and be careful with those speaker connections.... very easy to short them.

Thanks Rod. Any value to speak of?

If you're interested in some retro hifi with a bit of style - I have a B&O receiver that I'm selling.

Not really except 'sentimental' perhaps. There might be collectors out there willing to buy maybe £30-£50 on the bay.

There was a used Federal SA-30 amplifier on eBay which was advertised at £89 or best offer and it did sell but I don’t know at what price.

Looks almost identical to yours, probably a higher powered version (maybe 30w rather than 20w)
