    Thoughts on an Omega Globemaster

I’ve been looking at the Globemaster, but can’t make a decision between the steel and blue one or the gold and grey one. At first the blue one likes the best, but I’m being strangely drawn to the other!!

They will both be similar prices if I bought one.

    Any thoughts and advice?

    The blue and silver.

    Gold and grey.

Both next to each other (poorly photoshopped!).

What for a sale and buy the blue - much nicer looking imo. I could have and should have bought one for either 40% or 50% off from memory, but bought a different watch instead!

I do like the Globemasters, and although I don't have an annual calendar version I do have two TT versions, and much prefer the blue in that too.
It's just a matter of time...

Yep, steel and blue for me too. I really love this model, beautiful design!

    +1, very much.

I've got the standard blue and steel - fantastic watch!

Keep an eye on Beaverbrooks' sale - often great bargains to be had!

There was one in the sale at Burrells in Winchester but I can't remember which one. You could give them a tinkle and ask:

I think these have the charm of a 60’s Datejust. Much nicer than the modern Rolex equivalent imho. And I prefer the steel and blue although frankly both options are lovely

These were crazily discounted last year. I dithered and didn't buy one - doh!

    Cheers

Great watch for work. Recently picked up a white dial s/s from the forum.

I tried on the gold and silver one with the sort of brown dial.

    It's a stunning watch. That's my vote.

I prefer the date version. The sedna gold is really spectacular in my opinion.

+3. I think the choice of font on the months is all wrong. The simple date version is much cleaner and nicer to my eye.

I just think it is an unnecessary complication that clutters the dial. I often don't know the day or date but am usually good with the month!

The point of it is that is an annual calendar though, so that you don’t need to adjust the date upon month end aside from end of February.

Whether they need to display the month in that way is open to debate, but in order to set it, you need to know the month.

I like the reuse of the 12 hourly partitions of the dial for the month function, as is similar with the Skydweller

Personally I like it and the silver dial, blue text is the one I would go for.

Silver and blue colouration for me also, and I like the month complication (a triple date would make it truly superb though)

Agreed, I prefer watches to be free of complications, in fact I would be quite happy with a watch without a second hand!

The OP was asking about two Annual Calendars - other options are available, but not many brands put out an Annual Calendar for the price Omega do.

If the choice was on less complicated watches - let's get the popcorn. MX5 anyone ;)
