    New in.

This Leonidas came to me from a freind who asked me to clean it up for him. The case had seen better days, it had no plexi and the strap was missing.

As he knew nothing about the watch, I did abit of digging for him and was informed that it was probably issued to Police Officers who worked for the Civil Service in India or CS ( I ) as it was know as in the 1940's, WW2 era.

The watch itself is very small, measuring 33mm with crown and a 15mm lug width, with a MW & Co manual wind movement.

Because of it's military ( ish ) background I asked if he wanted to sell it me, to which I ended up doing so. And the rest is history. The refurb turned out much better than I expected.

So here's the end result. Probably not to everyone's taste, but I like it.

Love the simplicity. Standard size for watches in those times. Nice find.

Didn't know Mappin and Webb did their own movements though.

The clarity is better than many modern dials at 40mm.

That wedding ring could do with a stretch.
