    Apollo 11

I just realised that my unworn 30th anniv has been sat in a safe for 20yrs now! I’m gonna wear it Saturday for the 50th anniv and sod the scratches, time to enjoy it. As I remember I think it was about 1200 quid when I bought it new.

It’s been in a business safe elsewhere and as it was never meant as a daily it gets overlooked, I have viewed and wound it from time to time but never bothered to collect/wear/return it. It’s a pass it on really.

Wear it indeed, but remember the golden rule: pictures, or it didn't happen!

Picking it back up on Thurs, quite looking forward to it now. This was a high number release so never gained any great value but still a nice package- came with a book celebrating all the missions. I dug it out yesterday but the glue fell apart on the spine, shame.

Some might say the pictures don't prove anything.

If it was in a safe for 20 years now, why would you start wearing?
Put it on SC straight away!

It was the 50th that inspired me to bring it out and wear it. It’s not worth life changing money and it falls in with my retirement year so now is the time to enjoy things. A customer of mine has a 1680 red sub he bought new from a px store when he was demobbed,I never saw him wear until about a month ago,he had mentioned it and said he would wear it when he stopped working-older than me obviously. When I saw it(like new) and told him what it was worth I thinkI spoiled it for him. Hopefully he will still wear it,I sorta wished I hadn’t said anything.

I must admit that during the viewing of the various National Geographic channel offerings on the Apollo missions, bought a lump to My throat My Mum made Me and My Sister stay up and watch the historic moon landing its made Me look to purchase a Speedy Pro in the near future.

50th is a nice watch. I did contemplate it myself.

Sorry, I thought it was intended as a reference to the moon landing conspiracy theories.

    Please do post your pictures.

    Definitely, pictures please!
There are still a few free image hosting sites where you can get a link to display on a low volume site such as a forum.

Google Photos does it, I believe. There are YouTube videos on the topic.

I'm sure there are forums where people are posting photos of fake Speedmaster Pros to prove the landings were fakes, right now!

I don’t know it so I went searching,I like it as only the back gives it away and the therefore the dial looks right.
