Wearing Omega Speedmaster through 50th Apollo 11 anniversary?

Hope I have not duplicated a running thread...
I will be wearing my Speedy from the 16th-24th in celebration of the 50th anniversary, anybody here planning to do likewise?
    Cheers :-)

Thanks guys , itís always been pretty cool growing up with an affinity to such a momentous event.

Was going to buy a 40th Anniversary model ten years ago but decided a birth year Ď69 model would make more sense rather than commemorating one particular anniversary. Bought at the right time too as they were really affordable back then but considerably less so now.

    Cheers
    Neil

I will give this tired little thing ( a pre moon Speedie with a DON bezel ) an outing on its ill fitting aftermarket bracelet.
I will get around to sourcing proper end links/bracelet some day:-)

I'm wearing mine at the moment, but have been slightly unfaithful with some of its relatives!

Interesting article here on how the Speedmaster came to be chosen by NASA as it's official certified astronauts watch

    Wearing mine today.

And a lunar eclipse tonight in the sky over The Netherlands (dunno about the UK)

    Menno

    Edit: UK as well! https://www.express.co.uk/news/scien...-stream-latest

Remarkable that nature is showing its special moments when there's something special going on about the first moon landing. Remember Neil Armstrong's funeral day being on the day of a Blue Moon? And it was one of those days that the distance between the moon and the earth was relatively small. That was a big moon as well!

Nice idea, likewise put mine on today and will wear for the duration. Every time I look at my wrist Iíll remember that mind-boggling achievement taking place fifty years ago.
