    Sisters

Who would deny a nice pair, if they offered you?
    Not me, for sure.

The one on the left, on a nice black leather strap, would look great. The grotesque fisher-price monstrosity on the right, I wouldn’t touch with a barge-pole.

That's a bit harsh chap. Someone's pride and joy. I agree however that the new has lost some of the delicacy of the old. Still who am I to say? I've got a Tudor GMT which looks a bit chunky next to my 16700 even on a Rubber B.

I imagine that decision might be determined by your budget too! An informed opinion based on handling both would be nice, too. Have you?

No, slow boy. By name, by nature. CS, I really cannot help that you have the finesse of a roadsweeper.

The left-hand one is OK, although I prefer the tritium versions personally. The right one has all the wrong proportions, IMO, and is of no interest at all.

So, the older one is worth much less, but classier, less obvious and frankly better to have wrapped around you.
The younger is one is worth a fortune buy you'll lose friends by constantly banging on about it?

You've described the Minogue sisters in reverse.

    HaHa
    Lovely thing that is.

Both are lovely and have their own charm. Enjoy the lovely pair and ignore the noise.
I too prefer a 1675 or a 16750 to the 16710 but that is a personal preference. The modern one looks great as well.
    And, Bob’s example is super.

    Sisters

I have had the pleasure of handling both, side by side. I am also lucky enough to own GMT masters in various versions. I can say, without doubt or hesitation that IMHO the white gold Pepsi is a work of art. It is difficult to explain why, but it just feels special. Quite simply put, the only reason I don’t have one is because I can’t afford one......
But then, even if I could afford one, I’d probably never be able to find a dealer willing to sell me one.

Both are lovely but the modern WG with the blue dial would be my pick.

They both have a charm but, my god, rolex have come a long way in build quality... the newer model is clearly a higher class of product.
However lm glad the old models are still loved - it's always amusing to read the embittered comments of the old guard!

Neither, rightie too clunky in design, all angles, no flow. If the leftie was a Pepsi, that would be my choice.

Thanks. Yep, a full tritium N serial 16700 with a Coke service bezel (and the original all black one, safe in the box). I have thought about sourcing a period Pepsi, but these are now a fortune.

It is nice to have both, divided as they are by nearly thirty years.

No definitely not a daily, it’s a full set on a rare as hens teeth 6636 stretch rivet bracelet, lives in the box with the others that have now become too expensive to risk wearing, crazy game this probably why Ime getting a bit disallusioned with it all. lol.

Prices are indeed both scary and crazy in equal measure. Your Gilt was how much new, back in the day? £200 or so (a guess on my part)?

Still nice do dig them out for high days and holidays though I like to stick them on a reliable bracelet and put the original away.

Yep, know what you mean Jim, bit like driving a fast car every day, after a while it doesn’t seem so fast but get it out once a week and the adrenaline kicks in.
I wouldn’t swop the bracelet off the gilt as the rivet is just so right and is unbelievably comfortable, it really does make the watch.
