    Hi Newbie

    Hello all,

I’ve been lurking on here for quite some time and thought I’d finally register and say hello.

I’m Jon and I’ve had a problem with watches from a young age! As a kid I would look through the Argos catalogue at all the watches and although as I’ve gotten older I still do the same thing for online retailers.

A couple of years ago I had a purge of my collection (which consisted of about 20+ watches from Casio, MVMT, diesel, TW steel, nautica etc). I reinvested the money and bought my first luxury watch. A Tag Aquaracer automatic chrono with the idea of maintaining a small collection.

Earlier this year I fell in love with the Tudor GMT and it’s pretty much always on my wrist.
There are so many watches I desire I just wish my income could keep up

Anyway, hello from me, hopefully I will contribute more to the forum.

    My current collection

I'm taking early retirement this year sometime and will treat myself to another watch.
I couldn't decide between a Breitling heritage superocean or a Seamaster but really like the Tudors. So Tudor it'll be.

The superocean heritage is a watch I really like too, my friend has one and whenever he wears it I find myself looking longingly at it. The newer 44mm B20 is definitely on my radar.
Tudor have some lovely models and in particular the Pelagos. Which do you fancy?

I was in Goldsmiths with my pal on Friday whilst he collected his 58, it’s a lovely thing that I’m sure you’ll enjoy

I've looked online at Goldsmiths and Watches of Switzerland and my nearest are in Manchester.
Did your mate have to order it??

I've seen them on ebay more expensive than either of those stores.

He had one on order at Fraser Hart but we were walking past Goldsmiths and stopped to look in the window at the Tudor section. The guy came out to chat to us and said he had one on bracelet in the back if we wanted to look. My pal bought it there. They said approx 3 month wait generally. They did have one on a nato too. This was Leeds centre store

Your Tudor is awesome, and the Mondaine is nice as well... never seen one IRL yet.

It’s a great watch, I didn’t realise just how heavy it was until I got the Tudor!

It’s likely to be the one that makes way to fund new purchases though. I’m considering the Breitling Superocean, avenger blackbird and Omega Speedmaster at the mo. I need to try them on and see just how much I like them

I've got my Aquaracer on at the moment. It's a similar size to a Seamaster but the Omega is more comfortable.
    How does the Tudor feel?

Tudor is wonderful, fits nicely on my wrist, feels like a quality product but is quite light (certainly compared to the Tag). I think I read on another thread about the adjustment of the bracelet being a bit awkward for certain size of wrist, I seem to be fortunate that it’s not been an issue for me. I love it.

Never really got why most Tags are so very heavy!?

From your list a superocean heritage II would be the way I'd go...

I have a soft spot for Mondaine. It’s a bit like an Apple Watch in that anyone could wear it and it doesn’t say anything about the wearer. I know a VERY successful guy that wears one. It’s that weird movement where the second had does something odd in the last 5 secs so it looks good and has some engineering interest as well.

What did David Brent say? A good idea is a good idea forever. :)

I’ve had it a few years now, keeps time really well. It’s my smarter watch when I don’t want to wear an expensive one (out boozing etc). I like it a lot (also love the box it comes in )
