Look in System Reports for a file starting with Kernel_*
Any Mac experts out there? My Mac Mini which is c.7 years old has developed a habit of continually restarting when left idle. It’s ok when in use but if left idle can’t manage more than an hour before abruptly restarting its self. Wondering if anyone has had similar and/or could provide any tips.
Running high Sierra 10.13.6 (latest it will take). 2.5ghz i5 with 16gb ram.

Thanks. Have had a good look round in there and also read quite a few bits online but I can’t find any reason for it nor solution. Suggestions of RAM, kernel panic (which I don’t fully understand) and power supply issues. I’ve also tried removing all peripherals. A bit more trial and error I suppose but I fear it may be giving up.
Would be keen to hear if anyone has had similar with a Mac and managed to fix/isolate a cause.

Just in case the vents are blocked up and over-heating the unit, I would take some canned air and give the cooling vents at the back a blast, to clean out any collected dust. I'd reset the energy saving preferences also, to remove remove ticks on Put Hard Disk to sleep when possible.
Good luck.
