Rather Polerouteresque with the 'engineer' dial and handset. Damn you, I really want one now.

Very sad this week to have lost this old beech tree from outside the workshop. Luckily most of it fell the other way...

Is this a straight bezel swap from a 16710? Does the bezel now move freely? Looks really good.

Yup, thats right. Parts are all from either the 16610 or 16710 and bezel moves freely bidirectionally.

    Black alligator gloss.

I’ve had it variously on that, the original, and a russety-brown shell cordovan.

To my mind, the black gloss compliments the dial much much better than anything with brown in it. And while it sounds dressy, I’ve found it actually remains very versatile in that configuration.

Looks really good, I’ve got the three bezel inserts for my 16710 and quite like the idea of doing what you’ve done with the plain black bezel. If you fancy moving that on there’s an interested party here :o)

Interesting. Thing is I bought it to wear with brown/cream clothes so a black strap wouldn't work! I've bought a brown perlon for the summer. Like the sound of the shell cordovan, preferably number 8.
