Interesting, what are the numbers after "ramsund "?
Hello
I thought I would test the forums knowledge on the ScubaPro 500
I understand they were issued to the Norwegian Navy?
Does anyone have any idea about the markings that might be found on such a watch!
Do they look like this?
The rest of the watch is standard ScubaPro.
Ramsund is a Norwegian Naval base and the marking on the case back are older than the majority of the scratches.
The watch itself has led a hard life and is pretty banged up but they were a tool watch. The orange second hand has been bleached by the sun.
Any help appreciated.
John

Would the watch be from 2012? Because it might be the passing out of navy class 089 in year 2012.
just a thought, as I don't know but I know a few navy pass out parades where the guys have had a watch done.
Nope this watch is much older
I thought watch 12 of 1989 to be honest
It’s a tritium dial and hands
Has at least 30 years of wear on it
The only thing I do know is that the watches were not issued to individual divers but issued as a part of the dive kit that had to be signed in and out every time it was used
Ah ok, I was on the wrong track. Hope someone knows the background.

Sinnlover, you could try asking Revo as he has Norwegian heritage I think and would be knowledgable about their forces I would imagine.
Found this on the net.
Ramsund, between the towns of Harstad and Narvik (special operations/Marinejegerkommandoen)
With special operation there I can see this as a issued watch a good possibility. Funny when in the US Navy they sent our unit over there been to Harstad and Narvik close to that base. Nice watch keep on doing home work on this watch would like to find out if it was issued. And these watches are from the 1970's

One of the reasons for buying it was the possibility of a bit of research. I love a mystery. It’s half the fun of owning watches like this.
It might turn in to something rare - rarer than a Milsub... It might not.
Either way it is a real ScubaPro and I only paid the going rate for it so I won’t loose out. It’s still a cool watch.
Keep us posted as it's interesting,,
"Once is happenstance. Twice is coincidence. The third time it's enemy action."
'Populism, the last refuge of a Tory scoundrel'.
And the word from the base is . . .
wait for it . . .
"Navy diver watch... Probably😀"
So that's all clear then!
Interesting post and a great looking watch. Are the hands meant to be that colour or have they changed colour with time?
Thanks for that, I assumed they had discoloured for some reason as divers hands are usual fairly bright. I've never seen any go that colour before though. Learning all the time!
