Toronto - any advice or recommendations for a short visit?

Will be in Toronto for a few days next month, wondered if anyone had visited and could suggest any must-do things in the city? Sightseeing, maybe a jazz bar or restaurant? Also keen to go see Niagara falls if anyone has any tips for the best way to visit there?

    Thanks!

I’ll chime in with getting the ferry over to the island and do the evening stand up paddle board tour if you so inclined. There is a good little restaurant over there that you can stop at before the tour starts... it’s the green and White House that you’ll walk past.

As far as Niagara is involved, I’d rent a car and split the day at the falls then on the way back at Niagara in the lake. The area around the falls themselves is all a bit tacky.

Niagra falls is a must if a bit 'vegas' like... but its got to be done

St. Lawrence market is pretty good... plenty of huge shopping centres...

    Hi there,

The CN tower is a definite. Revolving restaurant - have a snack if you wish.

Some nice watch stores in the Eaton centre - when I was there, anyway.

I stayed in Willowdale which is North Toronto.

FYI Start of the longest street on the planet - Yonge street - east of the CN

    Enjoy, lovely place.

If you fancy a nice craft beer tasting session, the Amsterdam Brewhouse (https://www.amsterdambeer.com/brewhouse/) is worth an hour or two of your time. If you like wheat beer, ask to try the Bord du Lac. I lost a whole afternoon there last October drinking that...

I was in Toronto in 2014 for a family wedding and there was only one day free. I used tour company Royal something who provided a fantastic no frills no stress day out. The ticket price which was very reasonable included the Maid of Mist boat and the driver dealt with tickets and everyone was escorted straight through. There was a few stopping points with plenty of time to look around and grab a bite to eat. I was with my wife and my 6 month old son and I could not fault the service.

Another thought... if you’re into hiking, camping, outdoor pursuits then there are two really good shops literally about one minute away from each other. Mountain equipment co-op and Patagonia are both about a five minute walk from the Rogers centre.

Thanks all will look at these suggestions, so far looks like CN tower, Niagara faills boat (called the Hornblower which is same as Maid of the Mist but departs from the Canadian side) Niagara lake and I'm looking at the Reservoir lounge for a bit of dinner and live music. Watch shops sound a good shout, as does the craft beers. Suggestions for a nice cocktail bar welcome too!

I had a couple of business trips to Toronto last year. The CN tower is a must. Had a very pleasant evening in the distillery quarter- a few beers at the Mill St. Brew pub followed by a fabulous Mexican meal and margaritas nearby at El Catrin Destileria.
