    Daily office watch..which one ?

    Hi
Looking for a daily wearer for the office..but also something I can dress up or down..
I've been looking at the Seiko Presage range (enamel dial), the longines master range or the longines legend diver..

Ideally, +40 stainless steel case, sapphire crystal, in house movement or something like an ETA, 3 hands and date.

    Budget approx 1k..

I appeciate its subjective, but any recommendations would be appreciated... or if you've seen any bargains..

    Thx

The LLD is a superbly flexible watch. It can be really smart or really casual. I’ve never had anything quite like it for an ‘all in one’ solution. Plus it works on a whole host of straps, looking particularly smart on a nice vintage style flat leather type.

Smiths Air Ministry and treat yourself to an Expedition when they arrive, two very dress up or downable watches for the price of one.

Longines Master Collection. Can be ‘dressed down’ with a nato or perlon.

Ryan has exactly the watch you are looking for on SC right now. Limited edition Seiko Pressage with an enamel dial. Beautiful.

    Misses the first criterion.

Great watch, otherwise. I wear my 656 quite often as an office watch.

I wear all of my watches to the office, but the one that suits best is the SARB 035, I reckon.

The Seiko looks nice (local shop has one) but I don’t think it’ll dress down as well as an LLD. Guess you’re going to have to try them both on. Nice problem to have :)

Your grand should give you a nice choice of used Grand Seiko 9f. 40mm might be a bit more of a challenge but for office wear something 36-7 mm sits nicely under a shirt cuff.

I found an explorer @ 39 too small, hence the 40+ requirement.

Still open to alternatives.. and thanks to all..

The longines legend diver sounds like a great choice - not sure a regular diver style really works with a suit (many may disagree!)but these are quite unique looking and work casual as well

If you're not averse to microbrands, the Hamtun Nanok Day Date is imminently available ... https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/n...t-a-lifetime#/

Thanks for the heads up... do actually like microbrands, however the case size is too small for me, and TBH, not a big fan of that movement..

Also considering a Brellum Wyvern "petite Seconde" Chronometer, but its a bit pricy (www.brellum.swiss)

It kind of depends on your office environment and what you like. Generally I think Nomos' are a good choice particularly if you are working in a creative context.

Does it have to be recent production ? I was thinking a lovely Omega , Longine , might sneak IWC dress watch. Black dialed Seamasters 35-36mm dress and Devilles are very versatile. Put on a smart leather for the responsible look or go with a stripey nato to rock the creative vibe. The thin bezels make the watch appear a bit bigger.
Wearing an old Seamaster will make you look effortlessly sophisticated !

Doesn't have to be new, but case size is important..and the simplicity of a three hand watch..
Ideally with a story behind it and a wow factor. Not asking much I know..

As an example, when I was looking for a chronograph, I brought the Offshore Professional..for those exact reasons..
