I don't know about that. I've a small wrist ( about 6.5") and it looked OK for me.

I also wear a Speedie and Citizen Nighthawk, both of which are largeish

They have a small lug to lug width, so they wear small. I think it’s about 46mm.

Don’t forget your discount codes if you’re buying them as well.

    EJMVC10 for 10% off or EJSAVE50 for £50 off a £350 spend.

It would be rude not to buy both.

They’re actually quite tiddly imho. Took mine back after I bought it for the same price in a John Lewis sale, dial seemed really tiny and the unscrewed crown is really wobbly. Not a remotely chunky watch by any standards imho. Also wear really flat on the wrist

Thanks guys. I'll take another look. Never tried one on and just saw the 46mm diameter but looking at the lugs and the 6.5 inch wrist shot, it might just fit really well!

Lovely looking watch and certainly good value. Like what has already been said I'd be worried it would look to big on my wrist. I'm used to wearing thin faced watches so I'm not sure if I'd suit one.

Ordered both, thanks. Already had the black and gold earlier this year but thought I'd give it another try, whilst also trying the Padi.

Looks like the £50 off code works if spending over £300 and splits the £50 discount between the items bought. So buy the black and gold, and say another watch like a MK ladies for £115 - then the price of the Seiko works out as £157.91 and the MK £96.09. Browny points for buying the other half a watch or possibly just return it (you're own risk if the return isn't accepted due to the discount). Either way Win-Win!

Thanks for this info.Had to clear history on Google before offer pops up.Bought the seiko black/gold mentioned by OP this morning... Phoned up Ernest Jones and when the watch is delivered this Saturday I can then contact then for a refund of 10% on the order saving me nearly £19.Can only be processed when the watch is delivered apparently. So if you missed out its not too late for this discount.

Glad I went for one yesterday then. Was originally going for the black/gold, but was too late, so went for Padi. Probably just as well as it will be a holiday / scuba watch - plus it can keep my Padi turtle company.

    Thanks for the heads up.

Quite fancied the black and gold

Are they a standard size shroud and are they easy to swap?

I’m much more impressed with mine than I thought I’d be. I was going to buy a steel shroud, and a might still, but I’m really enjoying the contrast of bracelet and blue shroud.

PSA: Half price Seiko Solar Tuna

    Thank you very much OP!

After a few beers early on Sunday morning I saw this thread and clicked on BUY.

Having not owned a Seiko since a £30 Automatic in the 80’s I am really impressed with the quality! Dial pattern, print and Lume is fantastic quality, as is the sunken detailing on the bezel which moves very nicely. Seconds hand hits the markers!

Size is really wearable on my 7 3/4 inch wrist, blues used are a nice mid to dark shade and not too bright as I had feared. Quality of strap and brushed hardware again superb.

Before this the Divers I have owned have been 14060, Seamaster 200, 300 and a Pelagos.
I’m not saying this is a better watch but for a combination of price/quality and heritage I don’t know of a better Dive watch.

Awaiting the arrival of a Yobokies metal Shroud and Black Isofrane and then I reckon for me it will be perfect

I agree Lannylee, you just can't fault it for the price. I've also got a shroud coming and I bought a bracelet for it too. The colours used are spot-on, not garish at all, really classy.

I've had mine for 80 hours and it's bang-on time against the atomic clock. No more timing autos for a while!!

I’ve just contacted Ernest Jones and they say they won’t be getting any more as the model line is discontinued.

Not sure if this means Seiko have finished production?

The 498 is black and gold, the 499 is blue and red.

Keep checking availability on the website as returns will be starting to come back in now and they'll make them available.

Anyone know if you can buy a shorter strap for the Padi Solar (Seiko identical to the original except length)? I love the watch but the strap is hanging off the end and it's bugging me. I'm only on 5th last hole but strap is long. Seems a pity to cut it. Ta v m.
