    Rolex bracelet and service query

Some help with information would be appreciated if anyone can help me..

A few weeks ago was trying to adjust the bracelet on my 16660 when the spring loaded pin that holds the link to the clasp made a bid for freedom..........and made it. Couldn't find it.

Left it to local AD and asked if they could get the bracelet fixed and also a price for servicing.

So quote arrived today the bracelet they will not fix and want £1050.00 for a new bracelet. Service £550, which I thought was OK. Now my problem is I do not want a new bracelet I just want the spring loaded pin replaced and then put back into the clasp. The servicing is neither here nor there as if I don't get a new bracelet from them there is no point in servicing it.

So, my question is, could anyone point me in the right direction of an independent who could both fix the bracelet and give it a service at the same time?

Surely any 16mm (I think) spring bar would do regarding the bracelet.

Agree...I’m confused...I thought the spring bar within the clasp was a generic part.

I’m pretty sure if you can get to Rolex St James they will pop you in a new spring bar for free - well, they have certainly done that for me before.

That's what I was thinking. Sounds like the AD needs a good hard slap, cheeky buggers.

The only reason I can think of for them inventing such an absurd solution to a missing springbar is that wires got crossed and they thought you were asking for a bracelet refurb. But seriously, any AD worth anything would have popped a springbar back in free of charge, then talked you through the service details. As it is, I would avoid them like the plague.

Even Timpsons can't mess up a springbar fitting can they?

I think that may be where it currently is, was sent over by AD here, I'm not on mainland UK otherwise that would have been a great suggestion.
