    Cordless vacuum?

Pondering a cordless vacuum - Dyson seem expensive, Vax less so?

    Any users or experience?

(No, I will not be buying a Henry before anybody suggests it).

I have two cordless Dysons, bought 4 years ago.

The plug one one of them makes Apple's lightning cables look incredibly durable and the other just broke two weeks ago. Red flashing lights - looked up what that meant in the manual and just means it's buggered.

I hadn't started googling yet as we just use the downstairs one around the whole house now but I've heard good things about the g-tech from a colleague.

Why not a Henry? They do a cordless one now.

We went for a shark recently and have been impressed with the performance.

I’ve heard shark is great. Why not get a robot, we have a Roomba and it’s the best thing I’ve bought in years.

    Chris. Don't.
We've had a couple and I don't rate them. I swear by the Henry still.

We've got a cordless vax blade 2. Had a Dyson before that.

    The vax is brilliant

Got a Mlele in the UK and a Dyson V10 in Spain.

The Dyson wins hands down. The main advantage is that it is bolted on the wall and on charge. If you see a speck of dust on the floor, it takes less than 30 seconds to take it of the wall, whiz the cleaner over the speck and return it back to the wall. It is just so easy to use.

Dyson V8 absolute, was looking at the newest V10/11 then stumbled across video on YT where the V8 was the one to go for.

Dysons seem all huff, puff and noise, remind me of the old BAC111 aircraft jet engines roaring

I went for the Dyson V10 animal due to a recommendation in the Which magazine. My only concern about the V10 is the fierceness of the rollers in the brush head. I have a 120 yr old persian rug and when I first used the Dyson it was sucking up more fluff out of the rug than what was ideal. I contacted Dyson and they admitted that the standard rollers in the brush head were extemely stiff and would slowly ruin an old hand knotted carpet as it goes into the pile a bit to deep. I therefore, on their advice, bought a softer brush head and now it is just perfect.

Have a Dyson V8 thing and the missus buzzes round our 4 bed bungalow with it. She's happy, I'm happy. Review over. *

*(Probably not the best thing for heavy duty stuff in the man cave! Got a mains vac and dust extractor for that sort of thing)

Same for me I had it on turbo all the time but found that the lower setting worked best on loose rugs,it was just pulling them up.
You can go from carpet to hard floor without changing tool.
You also get a good selection of crevice type tools I use for the ceilings and cleaning the car.
Best tool I’ve bought in years.

    Cordless vacuum?

I have a Shark and it’s great, light weight, just the amount of suck and it even has LED headlights.

Bought it on offer in Curry’s for less than £200.

I've got the same but I can only get through about 3 rooms & the stairs before it runs out of charge. I use it on full power all the time though. I think it might get through the whole house on low power but I never feel like it's doing the job properly on that

Dyson have turned selling a battery vacuum cleaner for £500 into an art form,

People are starting to think it’s the going rate.

    It’s nuts,

The prime cast of these things is about £25

Could be worse! Could be a waiting list at the dealers...........
Started out with nothing. Still have most of it left.

Dyson gets a thumbs up from me. Had it 2 years and been great. Just had to replace the battery with a cheap copy and it’s going great again.

Thanks everybody - struggling to spend the eye watering Dyson V11 price (I know, watch forum etc....).

Going to give the new Vax a go - free set of tools ATM.

Seems odd that they say 'a free set of tools', I thought they were usually included with vacuums as part of the package! Although I'd have to ask the house boss to be sure.

I've got a dyson v6. It does a good quick clean but it still doesn't match an old vax corded that I still use. Conclusion is that they are good but don't expect miracle cleaning!
