    5167 plus BLRO = 5164??

I’m not getting any luck with Salons or the dealer who sold me my 5711 (he is fairly honest which was appreciated)

Thinking of going grey with this scenario (if possible) before things get further crazy

    5167 plus BLRO = 5164

My thinking is BLRO easier of my lot to replace down the line if I felt inclined but prob won’t miss it with PP Travel Time.

Any thoughts or advice? Love the 5167 - only the 5712 or 5164 would make me part with it but since I own the 5711 the 5164 would be the icing on the cake

I certainly would. 5164 is a great watch, perfect with the 5711. Just looked on Chronext and they have this now at £51K, was £46K a month ago, this year PP prices have gone into orbit, so get on and quick.

    Yeah SS BLRO

Wow - that is nuts. Hope that’s not true market as have no chance lol.

Last month they were 37 on WatchCentre.

Yeah the 5711 and 5164 pairing is perfect (either that or 5712 and 5167 however I prefer first combo)

Chronext like WF are right at the top end so maybe some cheaper deals around, esp if lightly used, but market is going crazy week by week now, I'd say get ready for a cliff edge fall but don't see what will stop this runaway train in the short term.

I thought you had the SS but when I saw the latest prices I wasn't sure you didn't have the WG to do this trade.

Just checked Chrono24. Giving 30K profit on my 5711 - think will take with a pinch of salt but nuts regardless.

Might just have to be grateful for what I have or try and find another AD however my location puts them off lol

Getting one from an AD would be a dream now, so move house if you have to, probably cheaper as well, lol!

    Haha - very true!

Regardless I will keep the 5167 unless a 5164 is poss someday. Would just make a perfect watch more perfect :)

Had more hope getting the 5164-R variant but don’t think it’s for me or travel

I’d hold on for the time being. Although the price of the 5164 may go up, so will your 5167.

I thought about selling mine when my new watch arrives but I think I’m going to move something else on instead.

I recently tried on a 5164, between that and my 5167 I vastly preferred the 5167. I have grown increasingly used to its svelte dimensions, the 5164 didn't have the same balance for me, I know 2mm thickness isn't a great deal but it was certainly noticeable. Personally I'd keep the 5167 in this instance and find a 5712, I found the 5711 just not me.

The 5167 has made me totally reconsider my watch collection and after being a Panerai nerd for the best part of 10 year LOVE slim watches now, so much so that I have just bought a late 2012 14060M 4 liner that will likely replace my 16600.

I respect to the deal with a 5167 & a 126710 it seems to make sense financially.

    At retail £15,110 + £7150 = £22,260 5164 = £27,090. About £5000 difference.
    Greys £30,000 + £15,000 = £45,000 5164 = £50,000. About £5000 difference again

If the 5164 is what you really want then why not?

    Happy deciding.

Glad your enjoying the 5167. I’m also preferring smaller watches nowadays.

Yeah the 5167 is fantastic but I think a tad too similar to my 5711 and ideally want one with a complication - so guess your kind of right that a 5712 and 5167 combo is another option. The 5164 & 5711 combo is more appealing for me. The 5711 / 5712 decision was crazy, I went back between the two for ages and finally opted for the one I preferred at the time I had to make a decision.

I think the problem with the pricing above is that a grey is never going to give me like for like value for what they buy and sell. Otherwise it wouldn’t be such a hard swap:)

    Cheers

Yeah I'd not really costed that in. Grey giving £25,000 for the 5167 and £11,000 for the 126710?

The real joke is when they finally offer maybe £24/5K to buy it. These guys are like the predatory estate agents before the Credit Crunch.

I had the 5167a and then sold it to buy the 5164R and at the same time bought the 5712a. The 5164R did nothing for me, there was a huge amount of money on my wrist but it didn't feel like that and it didn't feel so usable as the 5167a.

So I kept the 5712 as it is a beauty and something I will never sell despite the ridiculous offers I have had. I bought another 5167a as it is the perfect everyday watch and way more practical than the 5164 in my opinion. The 5167 gets so much wear it is ridiculous and in my opinion it is a way better watch than the 5164.

It's a tough one. You'd be losing two lovely watches, but it may make sense if the Travel Time really is "the one" and there is no chance of getting this through an AD. I'm assuming you would still have others in your collection (e.g. Daytona)? Would you miss the flash of BLRO colour?

I had to choose between the 5164 and 5167 a few months ago and went for the 5167 at that point, as the dial just worked better for me on that day, and I still wasn't fully sold on the sub-date - and I thought the 5164 would be less difficult to get in future. But, it was a close call - and one I may live to regret!

P.S. Wearing the 5167 as I type this. A cracking watch, gets even more wear than my 5711!

I actually wore all 4 of my watches yesterday throughout the day which is handy to do sometimes lol. The Pepsi with that flash of colour and Jubilee can for sure be more fun to wear then the Daytona (depending on mood) but boy does it stand out. I came to the conclusion that I will just be patient and stick things out for now until a decent opportunity arises. I guess in theory the 5167 is the more in demand watch so regardless of market should keep pace with the 5164 if that makes sense.

It is indeed a cracking watch and I’m lucky to have it - no way I would go without a Aqua variant in my collection, as you know you can easily forget you are wearing a watch as it’s so feather light.

I used to have the 5167, but swapped it for a 5164 about a year ago. Hands down the best upgrade I have ever done. It is now by far the most used watch in my collection. Contrary to what had been written previously in this thread I found the slightly thicker case on the 5164 to be more balanced and better on the wrist - so obviously a matter of taste. I also love the GMT function.

In fact, in the past 18 months I have upgraded my 5711 and 5167 to 5712 and 5164 - guess I am a sucker for compilations :)

I got/had some great watches but lately I’m coming to the conclusion the Pepsi is my favourite of all.

Always was surprised how late it took for the 5164 to take off!

It would prob be my one and only if I had to go down to one! Been offered one in a trade but no papers and dinged unfortunately so passed!

Completely agree. Given the love for the 5167 on here I've always thought it a bit strange that the 5164 is so rarely mentioned in despatches. Absolutely my if-I-could-only-have-one-watch watch (alongside if-I-had-a-lot-more-money and if-one-could-actually-get-hold-of-them).
