    Froome fall serious

Broken femur, elbow and some ribs.
He came off at 65 km/h during a reconnaisance for the time trial.

Rather a sad end to this season at least.
After last years sad, badly managed, debacle for him this is something he does not deserve. It´s cycling, it´s life but he desérved a good year.

    Currently in intensive car too.

I did find it mildly amusing that the news on the radio felt the need to clarify that he wouldn't be recovered in time to compete in the tour de france next month. Talk about stating the obvious!

I hope he makes a full recovery.

It's always going to be naughty falling off your bike at that sort of speed. Hope the pulls round ok.

Well, without a scratch is unlikely but breaking your femur... Ufff. That is the stongest bone we have! I réally feel very sorry for the man.

According to the data recovered from the bike 54 kmph to zero when he hit the wall.
    Never going to end well.
Hope he makes a full recovery.

A broken / fractured elbow isn't something that heals quickly, trust me I know.

    Froome fall serious

Looks very much like my wrist’s internal jewellery!

And no, major surgery like that..... months before it’s useable, let alone trainable.
I still have issues occasionally with my wrist, 5 years on. (I hit things and get hit a lot, so perhaps not your normal run of things - but any serious sporting on a repair like that will be hard work to completely recover)

I broke my femur when I was 5 then again at 8.
Metal plate in with big bolts. Still have a bit of a limp so that put paid to my professional cycling career before it started.

It's a very small silver lining, but looks like he might get another grand tour for his palmares anyway. Seems he may be awarded the 2011 Vuelta, if the blood passpot violation against Cobo is confirmed.
