Terrifying SAT NAV Traffic Info Message this afternoon!

Well, this one caused a bit of a heart in mouth moment!

Driving back this pm, and suddenly this message flashes up on the car info screen!

Anyone here live between Bedford and Rothersthorpe?

    Are you still with us?

    Was it the Russians?

If anyone can shed any light on this I'd be intrigued! And did anyone else get this message?
So clever my foot fell off.

I’ve got my tin hat on, just in case... the missing photo is all part of the conspiracy as far as I’m concerned.

I had a similar message a few years ago on the Audi Sat Nav system.

To be fair, if that stretch was bombed it’d likely improve the area.....

i read something about this before. if your system uses FM signals for update info, hackers can broadcast messages within a certain radius of their transmitter.

found it, old but same thing...

For one, I’m disappointed it was not Ali trying to contact you through your in-car GPS. Oh well..

I can imagine a message like that triggering some flash-backs for a WWII vet driving along in his Audi and getting back in the role of air-shelter warden in the middle of the road

Thanks for this - my first thought, well my second actually (!) was that it might be hackers.

That made me LOL! :-) Vision of Stukas dive-bombing motorway cones and averaging speed cameras came to mind.

Fantastic Alex, I like the fact that 21 first century technology can still go bananas, I'll ask a friend who's an electronics wizzard if he can produce something like that, I'm already smiling thinking about what I'd put on the sat-nav's screen............
Got a new watch, divers watch it is, had to drown the bastard to get it!
