Interesting Aston Martin news from Bond 25

Shooting of Bond 25 is currently taking place in Norway. A V8 Vantage, the same colour and with the same licence plate as the one in The Living Daylights, was spotted being filmed from a helicopter and a camera car on the Storseisundet bridge.

    Glad it's not electric.

    How do you know?

The six-cylinder DBS shared the same engine as the DB6, and Aston Martin are currently going big on engineering an electric conversion for the latter:

    Got engine pics?

IIRC in the DB6 they take out the engine and replace it with an electric motor that bolts to the gearbox bellhousing.

To me it makes more sense for Aston Martin to be plugging (sorry) their new classic car electric tech in a new Bond film than a big old dirty petrol V8.

Visually, the car is identical to the 1985, fuel-injected, Mk III V8 Vantage used in The Living Daylights.

    No pictures, just the name
But you’re correct of course, in terms of marketing it’s a no-brainer.

Based on the original post as already said. If it is electric, then it obviously isn't a V8.

There are also rumours that a Rapid E (electric) will feature in the film, but Aston Martin won't confirm or deny this.

The drophead was Victor Gauntlett's own car.

You see the DHC being "winterized" in Q's lab, with a hardtop being lowered on to it only for it to emerge, as you say, as an FHC one.

Carbon footprint - the irony of an electric car. I’m all for progress, but please, don’t feed me patronising bullshit...

    Just saying.

In comparison to the motor, it seems the film didn't age well

Since new e-cars are per 1 July obliged to have a Acoustic Vehicle Alerting System producing at least 56 dB which that could be a V8 sound track.
