    Scratched plexiglass

    Hi all,
Looking for advice. I've scratched my Max Bill. Used Poly Watch and it's removed most of the damage but there's a small deep section that Poly Watch isn't man enough for. Tips sought.
    Thanks.

New plexi? You can try fine grit wet and dry paper, then use polywatch to finish, but don't forget you're removing material to get it all down to the same level as the base of the scratch, and therefore weakening the crystal.

Have you got a pic? Is it really that bad? Can you live with it until service time?

The wet and dry needs to be very fine grit but does work - brasso is a good one as well, you could combine the two !

    Thanks for all your advice.

I think that I will try to live with it until I get it serviced. Trouble is with these things, once you've seen it or know it's there, you do tend to look for it.

Autoglym do a version T-cut paint renovator which doesn't stink like T-Cut or Brasso. Works well on plastic.

Also, wet and dry needs to be very fine. Something like 1000 and 2000 grit. This is what is used on car body work.

Woah, woah, woah, stop, don't try and do a Max Bill one yourself...

I'm sure I read somewhere, perhaps even here, of someone trying to Polywatch their Max Bill and finding they made a bit of a mess as Junghans put some sort of coating on the crystal.

I MIGHT be entirely making that up in my head, I'll try to find it.
