As a matter of interest......
I has been expecting some kind of argument or suggested compromise on the part of the garage that sold me this in March but was amazed to receive a response that said that although it might take them a while but they would fully honour the engine warranty. They confirmed that a conrod has gone though the block.
I had that happen on a five cylinder Audi once. It came out upwards through a slanted block so there was very little oil loss.Originally Posted by Velorum

It ran surprisingly well on four cylinders!
It wasn’t worth fixing so I sold it to a breaker who gave me good money for it!
