    Zenith Espada Quartz Surf

I acquired the above watch recently in non-working but good physical condition. I installed a battery today and it seems to run fine apart from the date function which does not move at all-maybe I'm missing something. Inside is very clean as is the outside, with minimal scratches or damage.
So is it worth keeping? Is the date malfunction fixable? Also while I was refitting the back I broke the tiny sealing gasket-bugger. Where would I get a replacement?

For the date, try winding the time back past midnight then again forwards and see what happens. Is the rear gasket circular? If so then you should be able to hunt down a replacement of the same dimensions.

I'm guessing sending it off for a service would be more than the watch is worth?

Yes I've been thinking that. I have asked Duncan for a quote. I got the date to move once is all. It's in such nice condition seems like it might be worth repairing. Or maybe I'll break it for spares. Even the bracelets seem to selling for a few quid.

Does anyone know if it is possible to service/repair the Zenith Quartz? It seems too good to throw away.

Thanks. I was also wondering if any independents will fix them.
