Looks good - but what watch is it going to go on the back of?

  5. #5
Awesome. Will it be going on any watch?

With that design it would look good on the back of a Japanese diver. Great skill.

That's awesome, who did the engraving? Was it expensive?

That is stunning. Heavily influenced by the woodblock print by Hokusai, from about 1830, "Under the Great Wave off Kanagawa" I think.
Only right it is on a good Japanese diver. Really good!

Looks excellent, would love that on the back of one of my divers (Japanese of course).

That's too beautiful to be stuck on the back of a watch in my opinion, it should be on view. A paperweight or medal like the one with the new Speedmaster would be splendid.

I have a woodblock print of this, sadly not an early one, but a proper woodblock one nonetheless.
One of my favourite bits of print art, although I think some of the modern Japanse printmakers (Toshi Yoshida for instance) are also superb.
I like what you have done with the background, the circular pattern give it a bit more motion.
Not wanting to be too ignorant, but I understand Skx Bry, but CBs ? Custom Backs???

That is a beautiful carving - what a fantastic case back it will make :)

I think Lundis Bleus posted something similar as a special order watch dial in their Instagram, but yours is way better and would make a superb dial, especially with blue enamel overlay!! Great job!

I came back for another look.

I love woodblock, engraving, the sea, and waves.

That would suit a custom build Tuna - or the hinged cover of a hunter style dive watch...

That would be so bonkers that I’d have to buy one.

Looks excellent Bry, by proper engraved do you mean it was created by hand or cnc or perhaps laser ?
    Cheers

Bry1975, you are a man of few words, and most of them are enigmatic. But I can only agree, this looks like a lovely addition to a Japanese diver.
