ETA 2892-A2 - crown tight and seconds hand stopping at 4 and 10' O' clock

My latest purchase, ETA 2892-A2 based automatic (1989 made) arrived yesterday and after setting and winding it (about 20-30 times), it worked for couple of hours after which the seconds hand is stopping near 4 O'clock and sometimes near 10 O'clock.

I also find that the crown is resisting winding.

    What could be the issue?

    Thanks.

If the hand-winding feels rough that's likely to be the reverser that's faulty and in need of replacement.

If you buy a watch of this age second you should always budget to have it properly serviced, most watches being sold haven`t been serviced properly for years.

I`m not volunteering on this one, I`m spending the next few months working on my own watches plus a few jobs from folks who I`ve helped in the past.

Happy to get it serviced. Any recommendations near Durham, United Kingdom.
