“Don’t look back, you’re not heading that way.”
Not sure about a haven of paradise but its a lot of work
Nice garden path, OP, nice decking, Liner33.
Here's mine - out in the desert, it's miracle that I've got anything green at all! Had some new grass laid recently, and you can see the colour mismatch. but it's a lovely place to spend an evening here in Doha.
Only landscaped last year and viewed through this afternoon's rain streaked windows, hopefully it will be a riot of colour soon (fingers crossed!)

At least you have something to talk about with your neighbours!
Cracking thread.
Mr Fleming, your converted Church home is amazing, i hope you have many happy years in it.
Me and the bro did this a few years ago.....it's not so in your face now.
We moved in in August to a 10m by 8m garden, almost entirely grass that sloped up by 1m to the back of the garden. It also inexplicably had 13 small fruit trees. In the third week of april we started working kn it. We've since removed the hill, created raised beds, built a retaining wall from sleepers, taken out roughly 30tonnes of clay and other material. It's taken roughly 300 man hours to get to this point with me and missus working. We've still got a lot to do but we're getting there

We did used to have a pergola
When we moved in we had a hillside
So we got a digger in
Then after a few years
Took a rather large sycamore down
Plan is to make a seat out of the stump
Recently replaced the decking myself , it had done pretty well as it was down for 15 years and we wont be here for much longer
That's a smashing job. Well done; looks a lot of hard work

Moved into this house in December 2016. Garden was a mess over grown , huge slope.
We had 70 tonnes of soil bought in to level out. Had an outdoor kitchen / bar built. Seating area with fire pit. An above ground pool and children’s play area. April of this year we pruned back a lot of trees and cleared out the back and replaced the lawn opposite the play frame with some Astro turf so the kids have a useable space all year .

Fabulous garden Eagletower, just perfect!
Eagletower and Liner33 - hats off to both of you!
Moved in a year ago today. Still work in progress. Another patio section at the back of the garage for an outdoor cooking area is planned.
It’s not the biggest but it’s a really sun trap plus I prefer to sit in a garden rather than work in one.
Looking forward to seeing how the Wisteria matures against the garage wall as well.

Beautiful garden Steve, love the look of your stone built house too. Was it a conversion by any chance?
Cheers,
Neil.

Lammylee - that's beautifully done!
Excellent use of space and design - really superb. I especially love the main water feature.
So clever my foot fell off.
This was mine until yesterday...now to find the next one.

I’ve just finished ripping up 35 square metres of decking out the back garden as it was all rotten and becoming dangerous for the kids. Have someone coming tonight to start work on a new patio. Hoping to have an outdoor kitchen of some form with a pizza oven in the future along with an AstroTurf putting green.
Some great ideas in this thread

Tremendous pictures. I love seeing nice pictures of gardens.
Yes I can see them,
Nice garden, Looks lovely!
Bloody hell, some of your gardens (more like grounds) look lovely and that’s coming from a guy who’s not really into anything to do with gardens, leave that to my wife.
Just to put things into perspective, here’s my tiny by comparison but normal garden
The entire garden slopes down towards the house so had to be done, I also have drain holes in the wall. No design thought more thrown together.
Even with that drain, around 10 or so years it rained so heavily that all the wall drains were pouring and the entire patio flooded, was so scared as the water level rose that that I went out, trouser rolled up and barefoot to clear the drain at the end as with the mud it had become semi blocked. Also got out the old pond pump (pond no longer exists with some piping as backup. Was relieved as the water level gradually dropped with just clearing the drain.
