Fed up with our shed that had seen better days after being salvaged from a garden 10 years ago. Down it came, a bit of clearing, some oak posts and feather edge bought. Some secondhand paving, a door, a few scraps of timber, and secondhand roof tiles has me here….

A bit more tiling to roof and ridges to mortar on, the next project is getting rid of the summerhouse that doesn’t get used, and making a timber glasshouse with Cotswold stone walls….

The swing is where the pond is now. At this point I had planted the Laurel and bamboo hedges and installed the railway sleepers. The stream now runs below the sleepers.
With an unseasonably warm start to the year, we've made good headway on the allotment getting it ready for the coming season.

It's been hard work! Nearly gave it up last year due to the weather, blight and probably leaving things for a bit too long without proper attention.
Feeling a bit more positive about it now.
Our garden over the course of 3.5 years: started work in 2017 when bought the house, the last pic was taken early last year. Did all the work by myself

Thank youI wish I had taken a picture how it looked when we got it. There was a stone fence running across in the middle, behind the fence was a step higher and all paved, with a green house on it. All that was lifted, 40 sacks of rubble removed from the ground, and then the whole thing levelled. The rubble was taken by the back neighbour, slabs were recycled, all that costed us money was the turf. Good job as we were soooo broke by the time we got to this point

Great to see this thread resurrected. And what a nice job this garden is!
I never stopped in December and until now in January. Always work to do in my garden. We finished last year with a new fence and next week we'll start with clearing a part that's now overgrown. The idea is to extend the path for the cars and to extend the lawn (as if I need more...). The next thing is a fenced-off area where I can put the dog when I don't want him roaming around on the grounds. Think along the lines of times when I've put fertilizer on the grass etc. Not very healthy for him. We took previous season to pick an area. Not too sunny (hot) in the summer was our main concern.
