    A pair of IWCs

I took this photo with the intention of using it to reply to a certain thread. I’m damned if I can find the thread now, so here is a fresh one.

The Yacht Club has been dated to 1968 by IWC. I wonder did these two appear in the same catalogue, albeit a few years later? The cases are similar, but not the same, as the Electronic has a snap back.

The YC is not long back from a service by Webwatchmaker - I wore it for about 3 weeks after it returned and, using an app for the purpose, it averaged at +3s per day over that period. Not bad for a 51 year old.

I think the electronic which is a tuning fork movement is more like early 70s, probably 72 if I had a guess.

They started making the Electronics in 1971. With day and date it was cal. 160. I was just musing, really, as to whether they overlapped. There are lots of old IWC catalogues on the web from this period but I can’t see one that contains both.

I believe they’re just under 36mm. Very nice pieces.

The YC is definitely one of my favourites. I really have used it at least 1/3 if my total wrist time.

And love all the dial options once available for this reference
