I did the same with Tudor Black Bays, had 4 of them... I’ve also flipped a couple of Sinn 556s.
Still think about buying back sometimes...
Yes, first time it’s tragedy, the second, farce.
I’ve realised I’m not only a flipper, but I’m an unimaginative and conservative flipper.
So far I have bought and sold the following models at least two times, usually three times. Often from SC.
Seadweller 43mm. On my third .
DateJust, owned three in the last two years. All the same, rhodium, dial colour.
DayDate; just two samples, both in white gold.
Zenith CP2; bought, and sold, three samples.
Grand Seiko quartz, three samples, one of which my lady still wears.
Omega Speedmaster Pro. Only two, plus a Tin Tin and Speedy Tuesday.
So, I tell myself, at least I’m consistent. Anyone else have the same problem?
Nb: only got two mechanical watches left!

I buy and never sell, seems the best approach by far.
The hulk is the only watch I’ve ever bought twice.
As you like Rolex and they hold up well value wise, why not try a different one? Say blue datejust for example on fluted bezel or jubilee, or both?
Five 2500 series Planet Oceans
Four to six Speedmasters (lost count tbh)

Only once Peter mate and I’m in a similar boat to you...
As you know I sold my DD40 a month or so ago and miss it so much I’ve just bought it back again.
That is pretty crazy when you read it like that. At least you know what you like and despite the ins and outs you stick to similar lines.
I sold a few in the early days and ended up regretting most of them. This has resulted in my holding on to watches I don’t wear out of fear of missing them. This is almost just as crazy in logic. I think i’d be better off following your lead.
well....11 GMT 2's
and 4 Daytonas
that's over 31years mind...
and lots of Ollech and Wajs too
Oh, and lots of Glycine Combats......
I think it's because of a search for watch perfection and I tend to be very critical of watches and once I notice a feature I dont like then it bugs me and I end up flipping the watch. Of all the watches I've owned only 1 has passed the above test and is a definite keeper (Dornbluth 99.1). The Seiko SLA025 is nearly there. I thought the same with the SLA017 but now the shape of the indices is starting to bug me so I fear that one will be off soon.
I've had 8 ND Subs and flipped then all. They look so great in pics that I think I must have been mistaken every time I flipped before but then I get one and an overwhelming sense of 'meh' pervades

I find it hard to sell, when I purchased my 14060 I said to my other half that quite a few watches would go to fund it as they wouldn’t get worn, well, there still in the watch box!!
With no names mentioned I know someone here who is on his 7th Pelagos..

I bought a Panerai Radiomir 183 for the first time in 2008. Sold it a couple of years later and bought it again in 2013. Still with me since then.
I have a lot of regrets for many other sells though.

It’s a disease.
Twice is normal
Thrice is an outlier
More than that a disease
