That caseback sticker being so clean and intact is very fishy, as they generally fade and come off within a couple months of wear.
So seems unusual for an unworn watch to have no box or papers...
Hi all, I know nothing about Rolex and my brother knows very little however we would really appreciate your informed opinions. My brother was offered the watch below with no box or papers, he is worried about its authenticity as he said that the bracelet in particular feels flimsy. Can anyone tell from the photos whether this is likely to be a fake?
Apologies for my ignorance and thanks in advance for your helpful comments.

Usual rules. Buy the seller.
I'd get it checked over by someone who knows their stuff.
How much is it being offered for?
Also, he 'was offered' a gold day date without knowing anything about them? If this is out of the blue, then that sounds... shifty. And if he was looking for one, then I'd hope he'd try and learn about them.
Best you both steer clear unless you buy from a reputable dealer.
The 118238 was introduced in 2017, the green caseback sticker hasn’t been used since around 2008. And what is the NG for ???
I’d be very sceptical with this one
It's a strange story, he actually knows the seller quite well and no issues there, the problem is that the seller doesn't know if it's real or not. He has a business and this was the only thing he could get out of an insolvent customer against a debt owed, he took it in the hope that it's real because he wasnt going to be offered anything else. Probably worth having it verified with an AD but just thought I'd try here first.
If this is real, what's it worth?

Not easy to see from your photos but the day display doesn't look like this one:

and the caseback sticker is in a different font.
I haven't a clue but the link I posted claims to be a Z serial (2006-2007).

I presume the watch doesn't weigh like a full gold watch which is a lot heavier, 100g more, than a gold plated fake so that is an easy tell. Go to any watch shop and weigh a SS and compare.

Note the six and nine o'clock diamonds are different shape (baguette?!) to the other hour markers.
Less real than Dolly Parton's boobies.
Maybe it was sourced from the dealer in norwich the scrap man

With that weight the NG stands for not gold

I would also expect Rolex are capable of sticking the case back sticker in the middle ?
Very likely to be fake looks small for a day date
