Thats awesome news! I'm hoping other curved end bracelets will fit as I think an endmill will look stellar on it. I hate US customs so much. This wait is miserable!

haha! I think his bracelet will be amazing! I know I'm just trying to find an alternative clasp as I don't particularly care for the expanding dive clasp but I'm sure it's outstanding. Always nice to have options! I also have a black leather rally strap waiting for it

I am sure that your taxes and mail handling might be a good bit less punitive though! Have a high end razor on the way and nervous of delays and fees.

Really hope you enjoy the watch when it arrives! Looking stellar in the photos!

    Eddie,
Judging by the numbers turning up in this thread, it looks as though you’ve been been working extremely hard to get them shipped.

    Thanks

I still have 15 to ship, hoping to get them done today.

The black leather w/ white stitch looks amazing on it.

  26. #176
I agree, think it suits it better than the bracelet.

  27. #177
Agreed. That is a lovely combination. Really complement one another.

I wasn’t a fan of the Vanguard, but that strap lifts it.

It certainly gives it a different look. They've come at a bad time for me. I really fancy one and seeing that picture really hasn't helped.

Not really a problem, as they're sold out in white anyway!

After a bit of cursing with the spring bars, and then a trip to a jeweller who had the proper twin spring bar removal tool, a white dial is now on a tropic. Diameter is nigh on perfect, but my, she's a big girl! I'm not sure I've had anything so tall before, so it's going to take some getting used to.

But as had already been said countless times, brilliant work Eddie.

Think I would like to try it with a black strap with white thread, perhaps padded. So many to choose from. Any suggestions of what and where?

  35. #185
The clasp in stock bracelet was a bit too bulky and uncomfortable for me. Just stuck it on a dimodell rallye and it’s so much better.

Mine has arrived. The height isn't as much of an issue as I'd feared, so think I'll keep it for now.

Only downside is the bracelet. By which I just mean that you can't use the micro adjustment without the final link being forced at an angle and making the clasp stick out. So I've got to chose between slightly too loose or slightly too tight. Some of the screw pins on mine are also nigh on impossible to screw in or out. Oh, and did anyone else spot the missing word on the first page of the booklet?

I'm nit picking really. Overall though, a great but of kit from Eddie.

Bloody hell you were quick. My acknowledgement email came through at 15:01 and I got number 15!

It's rare to receive a compliment on a watch from someone who doesn't have much of an interest but it happened today with the Vanguard.

I ended up with a ~$55 ICOD charge. As for the customs thing, I had a stressful dealing with them... UPS hands it to a customs agent and apparently did not give them the paperwork Eddie supplied them. I believe it was also on the package but they did not open it so I have no clue what the hell happened. I ended up forwarding them a copy of the form needed and it was released immediately.

Thanks for the info, I have exchanged some emails they tell me that...

Watches are one of the more complicated commodities to process for US customs.* The way watches are rated for US customs is broken out into 4 parts.* Each of those parts we need the materials *(which are provided on the website) and the value breakout of these parts (which is not).* We would generally reach out day 1 when the shipment is making entry, however the following comment is added under the Shipper comments.
    *
PLEASE DO NOT CONTACT THE SHIPPER FOR THE WATCH INFO. PLEASE HOLD THE SHIPMENT AND WHEN THE SHIPMENT ARRIVES SEND AN OPEN PACKAGE REQUEST TO THE HUB FOR THE WATCH BREAKOUT. IF NOT WITH THE PACKAGE CONTACT THE IMPORTER FOR THE INFORMATION.

    Then they tell me
***A*UPS Warehouse Fee*is applied to any held shipment after*two free business days. Thereafter, the warehouse fee will be*$20.00 USD per calendar dayplus $0.04 per pound per calendar day until the shipment’s release.* All shipments will be eligible for General Order (G.O.) warehousing by U.S. Customs on the*15th calendar day*after the shipment is imported into the United States.*

I told them what I paid for the watches and they want to know the individual cost of the parts!

Has it cleared yet? If not, I'll send you the breakout sheet. There's one in the documents pouch on the packet and I always give another one to my local depot for electronic transmission to UPS in the US. The US is the only country in the world requiring this document so UPS UK probably don't know what to do with it. I've had to supply another 4 so far this week.
