Q&D of #10 just hanging on my wrist, I need to take some time to remove 4 or 5 links later. I'm optimistic that the clasp may be small enough to sit comfortable on the inside of my spindly 6.5" wrists.

The booklet is excellent Eddie, really adds to the package and a nice quality item.

Just arrived home to find the red RM 'something for you' card in the porch.

Will have to wait until tomorrow!

If anyone has a sea dweller, how does it compare in size (i know they're essentially the same dimensions, but this looks more slab sided). I've been second guessing the purchase since the start. Me and my small wrists :(

See my picture above, my wrists are 6.5". I'll post a better picture once I've sorted the bracelet later.

It looks absolutely fine on your wrist.

Im a tiny bit bigger at 6.75" and have been worried that it might be too large. I think it will be OK looking at these photos.

I am going to put it on a lower profile bracelet.

    How very true

Applies to every one I buy!

Wonder if it will make it to the end of June?

  10. #110
Very nice looking! I know these were in the works for a while and sadly I missed on them. I do have 2 other watches with the Seiko NE88 movement which I think is really nice.

Is the downward angle/slope of the bezel from the crystal to the edge of the watch much steeper than on the original Rolex? If so, is this to do with the space needed for the movement/hands on the Vanguard?

Hope all the new arrivals are being enjoyed by their owners!

Sadly yes, the bezel slopes down at 30-35 degrees from horizontal as the crystal, though slightly bombe, is virtually flat. The Daytona 6239 plexiglass was heavily domed from it's flatter (10 deg?) bezel to clear the hands.

I think the movement thickness is just typical Seiko, the Anantas are like this as well.

A brilliant effort though, and certainly the nearest I'll ever get to a Paul Newman- Thanks so much Eddie.

I've just ordered a Di Modell Rallye to try mine on. The bracelet and clasp are fantastic things but initial impression is just too much bulk on my twiggy wrist.

For me it's more how the design plays out. From ralphys photos it looks very slab sided and tall. Far more so than a sea dweller of comparable thickness. I've my fingers crossed but this one might alas be going straight back or onto SC.

Why even consider messing our host around? It will go in seconds on SC.

I don't think you'd lose anything. They're great value at RRP and practically all sold, aren't they? Surely there'll be lot of people who missed out or will decide they'd like one based on the wrist shots and reviews.

    Arriving today

Mine is coming today. Very excited, but I too am worried that it might be a bit chunky for my 6.3 inch wrist. I have a leather strap ready to put on it which might help. I wear nato’s a lot but that would raise it up even higher so I don’t think that’s an option for this one.

White #22 arrived here today, thanks Eddie.

Fabulous thing (esp. the dial) but just too thick in the case for my tastes

    Number 23 here

Please excuse the poor quality pictures

Nice case and I love the booklet. No plastic warranty card with mine though - did anyone else get one?

Its a lovely looking thing and doesn't seem overly large on my 6.75" wrist

Its a tall case though. Not helped by the chunky bracelet and clasp - which I removed straight away (its still in its shrink wrap) in favour of this tapered generic oyster. The same one as I have fitted to my Everest

Of the two, I'd say the white face definitely has the edge over the black.

    Kello.

You’ll need to ‘stick’ the microphone from your earphones to the watch using tape.

Undeniably a very attractive watch, but too chunky for my personal taste (and slim wrist !)

    Oops - must pay attention.

The warranty is printed on the inside back cover of the booklet!

Its just that I am used to the plastic credit card type ones...

SC will indeed be the preferential course of action, but I'm clearly different to most, I don't consider it messing him about at all. If I'm spending just shy of £800 on something I can't even see in the flesh, I'll make use of my right to return it if I feel the need. At close to a month's salary, I'm not thinking about "our host", i'm thinking about my rights as a buyer, that both parties are aware of.

Having worn the Everest for most of the week this felt pretty enormous when I put it on this morning. After an hour or so it didn't seem too big at all. I actually like the slab sides of the case. Hard to describe but it feels like you have a heavy duty precision instrument on your wrist as opposed to a piece of jewellery.

Where’s he saying you should throw money away? Put it on SC and it’ll sell in a matter of minutes. It’ll cost you no more than postage. That way you don’t need to waste Eddie’s time organising a refund when he’s busy enough.

Given that he sold three more than exist, perhaps he'll actually be pleased?

I'm finding this bullying of someone using distance selling exactly as is laid out pretty impertinent. He paid his money in good faith and is making a perfectly legitimate decision. Mind your own business and stopping clucking around like hens.
