Why does it have to be Swiss? Isn’t it time for a little adventure?
After recently inheriting a PPN, I'm struggling to find a "back-up" less expensive Swiss watch, or rather, a Swiss watch from a manufacturer i have not enjoyed before.
I'm struggling as I've been through a few, and multiple times. In no specific order: humble brag, humble brag :)
Of course, Rolex, Submariner-Date, Explorer-39, Explorer II, Yachtmaster, Daytona, DJ
Audemars Piguet, Royal Oak chrono
Vacheron Constantin, Overseas chrono
Tag Heuer, Monaco, Aquaracer, F1
Omega, Speedmaster, PO
Cartier, Santos
Longines, Flagship chrono
Breitling, Blackbird
Bvlgari, Scuba Pro chrono
Rado, Ceramica
IWC, Ingenieur
Zenith, Chronomaster moonphase triple date
Panerai, 512, 523, 282
Bell & Ross, Type Demineur
Swatch, Irony (can't remember, but 5 variants)
I really can't think of what next. Admittedly sunshine and lunchtime beers aren't helping
Suggestions?

You seem to have gone through all the big conglomerate owned watchmakers so why not support one of the more independent companies? Chopard, Oris and, of course, Titoni spring to mind.
^^^^^^
Thanks Lampoc, forgot about Chopard, Oris not so keen on designs, Titoni? I've not heard of them, so I'll check them out
What’s wrong with German stuff like ALS? Or do you simply dislike German goods? It’s difficult because you have already had such a huge range of very fine watches.
How about Moser?
Go for a Seiko Prospex or Pressage. Doesn't have to be Swiss.
You're welcome. I'm not at all biased but here's one of the many times I've mentioned my favourite watch brand: https://forum.tz-uk.com/showthread.p...oni-Collection
id echo moser. pioneer centre seconds in steel.
You’ve had most high end brands so how about an Elliott Brown Holton. Cheap and cheerful interlude!

Depends how much you want to spend and what style you want.
Titoni are still independent I believe
Eberhard do nice models and tend to be appreciated in the Italian market.
Certina tough as nails and great crowns their Chrono Divers are brilliant looking models
Hamilton - just bought out a beautiful Panda Dial
Tissot - why not try one of their 70hr movements
Then of course you’ve got the higher end
Chopard
Blancpain
Breguet
Tudor?
Its another vote for Moser Pioneer from me.
Moser, breitling SOH, Grand Seiko, Ulysee Nardin, timefactors lots of options.

Not sure if the phrase 'done Japanese' means you've simply owned a GS Snowflake or you've tried a whole range of stuff. I'd recommend some of the higher level GS stuff or of you want to go super high end maybe Credor?
For Swiss stuff or European at least Moser as suggested before, Kari Voutilainen, Christiaan van der Klauw to name a few. There's a belting Breguet Marine on SC currently btw
Hi all, and thank you for the ideas.
Off to check out Moser, Breguet, Blancpain, Chopard, Tissot. It might take a while.............
The Breguet type 20 is a lovely Chrono btw and personally I think it looks better on the brown leather strap than the bracelet. Second hand prices are al over the place so you can pick up a relative bargain.
Blancpain was my immediate thought (mostly because I’d love a Fifty Fathoms...).

This is going to sound crazy but how about waiting until you see something then making up your own mind?! I can’t for the life of me understand why people ask questions like this on forums. No offence intended, just can’t actually get my head round it.
You’ve got the internet. You obviously know lots of watch brands. What’s the problem?! I mean what you’ve posted is basically “I want a watch, which should I get”. Do you choose your own clothes?!
That’s exactly it. I was looking for just that, inspiration.
Apart from a couple of exceptions, I’ve always tried to have different watches from different makers. I don’t like the idea of yet another Rolex, Omega or Breitling etc. Nothing against them, simply I’ve been there, done that.
And thanks to some of the membership I have a few avenues to look down. In fact I think I’ve already found the one. Well, the one for now anyway, you know how it is.
Well not really, in fact not at all.
Set my stall out, this what I’ve had, this is what I’ve currently got, need inspiration with in budget.
If posts like this upset up so much, don’t read them, and there’s no need for derogatory comments either.
But, out of courtesy to answer your question. No, I do not choose my own clothes, or shop for them. That’s what a stylist and personal shopper are for.

Go earn it then.
OK sorry. Apparently got the wrong end of the (probably diamond encrusted) stick...
I just think you could possibly look a little less frivolous by telling us a little more about what it is you like and don't like, otherwise it comes across, like you say, as a bit of a humblebrag.
Anyway, enjoy. Sorry I came across like that, I shouldn’t have posted :)

No worries. The “what watch” without budget or any parameters get my goat too.
Not a diamond encrusted stick, it’s a solid Pt cane with embedded with Padparadscha sapphires, boy is it heavy!
Maybe I was a little vague, as mentioned sunshine and beers, are not conducive to straight thought. :)
As like and don’t like, that’s the issue, hence the post. My tastes vary and as can been seen from my previous watches, the styles are all over the place.
But having thought about it a little more, I’m looking at something understated, classy, not necessarily a dress watch and preferably on a leather strap. As I don’t need or want another “sports” watch on a bracelet, that’s the PPN’s “job”
Fair enough, they’re certainly out there though I really like the Toric Chronometer as something a bit different.
I have the Type Demineur, which you mention you had, and would note that the legacy Sinn B&Rs (such as the Demineur) are a very different beast from the Chatelain B&Rs (such as the 123)... might be worth keeping them in mind. Lots of configurations including various precious metals.
Maybe a Chronoswiss ... ?

Ever tried sekonda

Not so keenon the strap to watch head gap, or the domed crystal. I had a Monaco, raised square plexiglass, I used to catch it on everything.

One of my keepers is a 1970s Edox - ETA movement and very well finished. Bought here serviced for 125gbp. Maybe search out some of the older examples of Swiss quality?
