    PRS25 timekeeping

I am curious as to how owners of the PRS25 in its latest iteration are finding its timekeeping

Mine is currently running at between +13s and +15s a day

The position of the watch doesn't make much of a difference

    How are everyone else's doing?

I don't have the new iteration so can't comment directly however mine from the very first batch ran at +20 spd its whole life. I was never happy with that performance and must admit I wouldn't be happy with the performance yours is returning either.

My Dagaz which also uses the Miyota is returning 4spd.

My SARB017 with a 6R15 auto movement runs at -4s per day. I did have it regulated when the new crystal was fitted though.

+16 SPD but it doesn't bother me because it's reset every Sunday so I know where I'm up to during the week. Besides, I'm always early for appointments so accuracy isn't critical.

I haven't checked recently but when I first got mine, it was running at greater than +10 spd but when I started keeping it crown up at night as suggested by someone here, it settled down to a better +2 spd.

That being said, I recently got a cheap jaxa wrench and have regulated a couple of my worse watches so if this one was not within 10 seconds per day, I'd have no qualms about opening it up and adjusting it.

My original 40mm from a few years ago and my 36mm both gain several seconds per day, so I set them 30secs slow when winding to wear, and they run accurately enough for the time I wear them.

I'm about the same ... good enough for me ... it's no big deal to move the hands back a minute every few days.

It's actually more accurate than my 2002 Datejust LOL

I had hoped for it to be sub +/- 10s

I can't complain: my PRS-25 36mm has gained two seconds in two days.

I'd have expected sub 10 spd and would be disappointed if not. I don't think you'll settle with it unless you get it fettled.

    Not good enough.
Will fiddle with the innards myself I think. Done it before on this movement and it’s not difficult.

I've been wearing my 36mm Everest daily since December and over most of that time it has gained maybe 6-7 seconds a day on a consistent basis. Very recently it seems to have changed a little for some reason and now seems to be running around 3-4 seconds a day fast.

I'm not using any positional adjustments to achieve these results (in fact it stays on my wrist overnight). Obviously I'm happy with the timekeeping.

It's a standard movement that can be regulated for better performance than that, I expect. I'd be interested to know how much better it can get though.

I am holding off having mine looked at as I may buy one of the new ones and then sell it.

    Miyota power reserve

I wind my Everest 36mm (at least 20 winds) and wear it all day every day. After two or three days it stops overnight. I wind and reset it.
When I wind it, it doesn’t start until its been wound 15+ turns. It’s almost as though the movement is sticky and needs a good shove to start.
I’ve had this movement before and several ETAs and never had this behaviour.
    Any comments or insights please?

As you appreciate, if you're wearing it all day every day then you shouldn't need to wind it manually at all.

I don't think I've ever wound mine, I just gave it a shake on day one and started wearing it.

It sounds to me that you've simply been very unlucky and got a wrong'un and should speak to Eddie about it.

Just got a 40mm PRS25 today. Looks like around +5spd here.

My 36mm has consistently run at +10 spd, which I am quite happy with. Still wearing it on the original bracelet as well. This and my 29A are my two best value and also among my most enjoyed watches.

Its running at between +20s and +24s per day at the moment - it definitely needs looking at.

I've noticed that if you leave the watch on its side overnight, crown up, it runs much slower which is pulling timekeeping back for me. If you're running + each day, you'll claw back around 2s a night this way (on mine).
