Does anything sell as well as a well priced Speedy?

Got to be the quickest moving watches on Sales Corner.

Last few days a couple have been listed and gone within an hour. Granted both very reasonably priced, but I don't think anything else sells as quickly?!

Other than cheap Rolex SS professionals, nope.

To be fair the £1800 one was never gonna hang around more than 30 secs!

The one at £1,800 was underpriced so would be snapped up instantly!

Omega have raised the rrp to £3,810 so you would say the second was well priced as well, as i'm sure used values will rise a little to reflect the new rrp.

The Zenith chrono listed this morning also went fast , anything well priced should move quickly!

A couple of Eddie’s new 40mm Everests have sold within minutes this last week or so.

The only issue with selling a speedy seems to be the gigantic box and associated weight.

Anyone who has sold one remember what the postage was? I want to put mine up for f2f but knowing my luck the person who wants it will be in Wales.

Any watch will sell quickly at the right price. Of course, it helps if it's a watch that many people like. I'm sure a cheap mm300 would go fast too.

Well my local AD has located a black GMTc in stock that I have just declined and that will be going in the window after lunch and I suspect that will last about 2 minutes

I do not have much experience of the SC but apparently things that sell like hot cakes include size 8 shoes, XXXL jackets, used perfume and used/abused and unwashed underwear!

The one at £1800 was 10 years old with no mention of service history. Considering almost new ones with the big stupid box and balance of the five year warranty are going for £2.3 to £2.5k I'd say it was priced fairly.

Yep, £570 for an Omega service. Just had mine back! The watch is suddenly £2,370 if it needs a service and the buyer goes direct to Omega. Add a £30-£50 handling fee on if going to Omega via a high street chain.

I agreed to buy one and have a f2f on Tuesday to collect only for the seller to decide he wants to hang onto it,so I was a lot gutted tbh.

Most things well priced and well advertised will sell very quickly.

That reminds me, I've got a load of mint Vostoks I must get around to sticking on the SC, instead of letting them continue to languish unworn in my watch box. Thanks for the nudge.

I sold mine for exactly what I paid so in effect lost £30 in postage.
I’m happy with that, as more often than not I lose a lot more when I sell.
I could maybe have got more due to price increases, but to me that’s not what this forum is about.

It is definitely the year of the speedmaster. I've got mine out and I'm enjoying wearing it in the run up to the July anniversary. It isn't going anywhere!
