    The Everest new bracelet

Just got these phone pictures from the manufacturer and I'll have the physical samples next week when I can take better pictures. The hand size hasn't yet been adjusted, that will take place when it moves to manufacture.

That's the one! It looks perfect with that off-white dial

I'm assuming it has multiple micro-adjustment along the clasp?

That looks very impressive. How do you remove the links if you need too?

If it's like other rivet bracelets, the last two links on each side will be cut screw heads.

I think I'm in good company asking for updates on the bracelet, having seen tens of posts about that ...

By the way it seems to fit definitely better the look of the watch, IMHO.

Will the samples include the Expedition version?

I've still good memory (despite advancing age ... ) and I remember that also Velorum, Magirus, Stuart, Brutus, DennisK, mrwozza70, FreakyLeo, forever8895, among others, were insterested in the new 20 -> 16 oyster bracelet

Anyway I'm more than happy to be nominated as the "Paladin of the Oyster riveted bracelet"

Possibly but not certain. I think the size of the script needs to be larger on that one.

Well, one man's Paladin is another's Black Knight. :) Perhaps we can let Eddie get on with the product development in peace now.

I’d like to suggest/request that the new bracelet’s end-link is female, not male (ie with a recessed centre section, as in the current 36mm bracelet, and not a protruding centre section (as in the current 40mm bracelet). This detail gives a better hang from the 2nd link onwards.
It would also be better if the bracelet could have cut-out hinged pieces (as in the current bracelets) rather than what looks like pressed steel pieces (in the given photos above).
These suggestions would retain very good features of the current 36mm’s bracelet.
The dimensions of the proposed riveted bracket are much better.
Sorry for the comments, but it will make what we’re eagerly waiting for even better.

The bracelet looks good, i'm happy with the dimension and clasp. Great job Eddie.

Is this going to be the final dial?

I think the size of the Smiths logo should be larger and the Everest should be smaller.

+1 on the end links. First thing I noticed ... :-)

    Dear Eddie,
I understood that, both for the PRS25 black dial and for the whites one, the hour hand will be just a bit elongated.

At the same time, will the minute hand just a bit shortened in order to just reach (and not overpass) the minute track ?
    Thanks.

    Thanks for your reply.

My question is if the hands modification will affect the hour hand AND the minute hand (time ago I understood it was iriginalky foresee to modify the hour hand only, but I am not sure about that).

New bracelet is looking good, as is the white dial. I would prefer a fixed Smiths logo, I don’t really see the point of having two different styles especially as the dial logo doesn’t match the clasp logo.

I reckon the tits logo looks way better, I don’t like the text of the new one, there’s no style.

Bracelet not as important personally as seeing more pics, especially how the blued hand set looks against the dial. Looks great so far. Prefer the boobs logo myself if it’s an option on the clasp and the logos probably should match on the same watch at least, consistency of branding and so on, also a turn of the wrist would give a flash of hidden boobs, noice.

Good point, Chris. FWIW I much prefer the duck logo.
I also think that the hands are too heavy in appearance. They might look better with slightly thinner blued material.

That was agreed with the manufacturer a month ago (and reported on here) but changes won't be made until it goes to production.

    Just catching up with this.

First of all, I love the ivory colour of the dial. I think it really suits the watch. Spot on, just couldn't be better in my view!

As regards the logo, I agree with those who think the dial would be better balanced if (ideally) the Smiths logo was a bit bigger or alternatively the Everest logo a bit smaller. There've been quite a lot of comments about this right from the first illustration, though I appreciate some have no problem with the logo sizes as currently proposed.

I'd also prefer the bracelet - if possible - to mirror the existing Everest bracelet on the points raised above. I've always thought the current bracelet is fantastic apart from the clasp and the limited tapering.

The clasp logo on the new bracelet matches the SMITHS dial logo on the 1ˢᵗ batch of the 36mm version, and I’m sure a lot of owners will be very happy about that. I know I am.

Would it be possible for the inner surface of the links to be coated in copper?

This would be a real boon to those members with arthritis.

Now that is a bloody good idea. It could be advertised in those old peoples supplements along with the Velcro fastening shoes and elasticated waisted trousers.

Why not just buy an £8 Sabona copper bracelet for the other wrist ?

I tried something similar some years ago Ian. It was quite effective, but Damasko never got back to me after I submitted the design to them.

Bobs design looks the perfect answer, stylish, unique and with the added bonus of the therapeutic affect of niggling chronic pain reduction a free issue to BP regulars would undoubtedly lift the mood of the forum. Its a win/win scenario.

How would this aid those, like me, who have arthritis in our right hand or fingers but wear our watches on our left wrists?

    Surly this is discrimination!

    That's a very good point.

Bob - I think that you have made a major design error here.

Looks like its back to the drawing board for you on this one.

Maybe offer an option for arthritic watch collectors to purchase an additional strap with their watch ? :-)
