That harks back well to the original, though the snob in me screams that the original is better, if one could be found.

Not sure that emulating the yellow marker look - works on a modern incarnation

That is very nice, £11,300 approx. You'd think that they would have aligned the bezel though.

That is very nice indeed, and that is from someone who doesn’t really like the FF. Of course it’s terribly expensive, but there is a lot to like in this release

A word about Bob Maloubier would have been nice...

    Thanks for the post Gray.

Agreed Middo. The watch is a nice representation of the original, but the fake aged lume that some manufacturers use, is really getting on my nerves.

The price is way too high, in my view.

    I'd happily add this to my Mil-Spec for a 40mm pair - I think it's beautiful.

For the record, I'm fed up to the back teeth of all the complaints about "faux lume"... soft beige is infinitely nicer than some kind of mint green, IMO - and who mandated that green's the correct colour for modern lume anyway?

Agree. It has become a snobbish knee jerk reflex to cry about the beige markers in a shrill manner as if it signifies a better appreciation of purity of design or understanding of horological intentions. Nothing could be further than the truth.I like this a lot.

I think if you see the lume colour solely as an attempt to match old Ra. you’re entitled to find it disappointing. But if you take it for what it is, a warmer colour on the dial, it just works.

'Fifty fathoms' in English. 'Swiss made' in English. 'Automatique' in French. Why?

I think it’s ‘opinion’ not ‘truth’.

I Agree, if anything nowadays its nothing more than additional accent color much like those watches with black/red/blue/yellow etc lume.

Guessing my 116655 has faux patina from the factory, what was Rolex thinking.

Spot on, this watch looks great and the colour of the lume suits the watch.

Most of the popular watches are faux vintage, a modern Submariner is a present day version of a 50s design, so I don’t understand why people would want lume that jarred with the watch as a whole.

To each their own. I'm fed up to the back teeth of companies trying to make their watches look vintage and just making them look rather pathetic in the process. We're all entitled to an opinion :)

All moot as unless you are a bigwig with the AD you wont be able to buy one. So admire with nose pressed up against the glass only.

Quite. Why all the usual sites spend time reviewing these unobtanium pieces is beyond me. Happily hand over £11k for one but will I ever see it in a store? No chance...

TBH having blown hot and cold over beige lume I'm a little disappointed this appears virtually orange.
Anyway, they seem to have skipped over giving it a mil spec fully marked bezel - another Ltd Ed run for the future perhaps.
Ideally I'd like to see lume used that ages beautifully rather than that which is pre aged to look vintage.
    Nice watch tho

I like this, the more recent versions have been a bit too overstated my my taste and this one is a bit more under the radar.

Generally speaking I have liked the recent trend for beige/vintage lume. It’s so difficult to acquire a good real vintage model of some of these watches FF/SM300 that it seems a harmless way to simulate it and it is attractive imo

You can like it or not like it, it’s not a major world problem. Like which end you like to eat your boiled egg from.
