At least the Milspec looks at home on a neon orange strap, or mustard gator.
haha fair point - ok it's probably the faux lume which really grates me than neo-vintage per say! I have zero watches with it!

One reason why I probably like your Milspec, despite the dodgy date positioning...

Couldn’t really say, looks like the Bond St. Boutique in your pics going by the carpet :p

It would’ve been sold up via an AD up here if I was buying it (once they’ve re-opened)
Blancpain wanted to know if I still purchasing it or else it would be allocated to another store.... past that its speculation ha ha

Not sure I'm getting this correct.
Did you get an offer of 20% discount on a BP Air Command?

If anyone is after one of these, I know a dealer getting one next week but it’s rrp, he doesn’t discount limited editions.

    Cheers

as suspected by Tony, I made the leap. It's sitting behind me in my office awaiting to be unwrapped. The pain of having to sell the family jewels will no doubt fade in time....

PS - seems the shop were already up to speed on my postings when I contacted them today....eh Mike?

Unlikely to the point of being unbelievable (in the literal sense). Blancpain LEs don't get discounted IME - there are always plenty of takers.

iphone photo with way too much contrast and burn out along with poor colour rendition. Will get to take proper pics with my SLR just as soon as I find a suitable location.

    thoughts so far;
    love it (phew)
strap is short for my 7 2/16 inch/18.2cm wrist
    Wears perfectly though

So lovely, congratulations. Blancpain always out of range for me costwise, but they produce some stunning pieces for sure.

so as promised, I have taken a few photos...a little bit better this time but still much room for improvement as I realise there is lots of dust and sticker residue, particularly on the caseback.

    the ubiquitous hairy wrist shot

and finally, with one of its stable mates; my late father's 1946 Longines 13ZN Flyback Chrono - one of the very first Flybacks

^^^ Absolutely beautiful - thanks for the wrist shot in particular, which shows how well it wears.

Very nice indeed. I think painting the hands white before applying the Luminova makes all the difference. I don't think it would look so good with steel or WG hands.

I've only just realised that it doesn't have running seconds, unless I'm going mad. I'm sure the old one did (at nine).

No, you're not going mad - it doesn't. The dial at the 9 position has been replaced with a 12hr counter. It does bring up the question which I have been pondering: Can one run the chrono all the time on this movement without issue? I know that there are various schools of thought on this, but theoretically this movement (vertical clutch column wheel) should not have an issue with this. Perhaps I should enquire of BP?

It would be interesting to hear what they recommend. Having said that, though, I've had quite a few two handers and always found it very liberating. (Cue the smutty jokes about two-handers being very unlikely, etc.)
